Donovan "Donnie" Freeman is an American basketball player who currently attends IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

Early life and high school

Freeman grew up in Washington, D.C. and initially attended St. John's College High School. [1] He averaged 21 points and 8.5 rebounds per game as a junior. [2] Freeman transferred to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida before the start of his senior year. [3] Freeman was selected to play in the 2024 McDonald's All-American Boys Game during his senior year. [4]

Recruiting

Freeman is considered a top-50 prospect in the 2024 class. [5] He committed to play college basketball at Syracuse over offers from Alabama, Texas, Iowa, and Georgia Tech shortly after the conclusion of his junior year of high school. [6] Freeman was re-rated a five-star recruit by ESPN during his senior season. [7]
