Douglas George (born 21 September 1953), also known as Doug George, is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender in the Netherlands for Haarlem and Sparta Rotterdam. [1]
He began his career at the Aston Villa Academy in England, and appeared in their 1972 FA Youth Cup winning campaign. [2] In early 1972 George scored two goals for Villa in their 5th round FA Youth Cup replay at Villa Park in a 3–0 win against Chelsea, taking them through to the quarter-finals. [3]

Peter Withe is an English former football manager and striker who played between 1971 and 1990. After a barren spell at Newcastle it was back to more success at Aston Villa with whom he won the First Division 1980–81, going on to score the only goal in the 1982 European Cup final and also win the 1982 European Super Cup. He played for England 11 times, scoring once, and was a squad member at the 1982 FIFA World Cup.
John Gidman is an English former footballer who played for Aston Villa, Everton, Manchester United, Manchester City, Stoke City and Darlington. Gidman was a product of the Liverpool and Aston Villa academies.
George Antwi Boateng is a former professional footballer who played as a defensive midfielder. He is Assistant Coach of the Ghana national team. Born in Ghana, raised in Holland and he represented the Netherlands internationally, making four appearances for the Netherlands national team.

The 1920 FA Cup final, the first since the end of the First World War, was contested by Aston Villa and Huddersfield at Stamford Bridge. Aston Villa won 1–0, with the goal coming in extra time from Billy Kirton, to clinch the trophy for a record sixth time. This was the first ever FA Cup Final to require extra time to be played.

Aston Villa Football Club were formed in 1874, by fifteen members [Report by the Sports Argus on a talk by co-founder Jack Hughes, 1899] of the Wesleyan Chapel at Villa Cross in Lozells. Four of the founders were Jack Hughes, Frederick Matthews, Walter Price and William Scattergood. The club won its first FA Cup in 1887. Aston Villa were one of the dozen teams that competed in the inaugural Football League in 1888 with the club's outgoing chairman William McGregor being the league's founder. Aston Villa emerged as the most successful English club of the Victorian era. By the end of Villa's "Golden Age" at the start of the First World War, the club had won the League Championship six times and the FA Cup five times.
The Aston Villa Under-21s, formerly known as Aston Villa Reserves and Aston Villa Under-23s, are the most senior youth development team of Aston Villa and compete in Premier League 2 of the Professional Development League, the Premier League Cup and the EFL Trophy in the 2022–23 season. The team plays its home games at Aston Villa's training ground, Bodymoor Heath and occasionally Villa Park. Aston Villa also have an academy side that competes in the Under-18 division of the Professional Development League, the U18 Premier League Cup and the FA Youth Cup annually, most recently winning the latter trophy in the 2020-21 season. Keith Andrew Leonard is an English former professional footballer who played as a striker for Aston Villa. He also played on loan at Port Vale, and previously played non-league football for Kidderminster Harriers, Darlaston, and Highgate United. He won the League Cup with Villa in 1975, and was also promoted out of the Second Division. He later became a coach, and led the Aston Villa youth players to FA Youth Cup victory in 1980; he later served Birmingham City as caretaker manager in 1986.

Under manager Vic Crowe Aston Villa won promotion in the previous season as champions with a record 70 points, and thus ended their two-year spell in the Third Division. Born in Austria to Nigerian parents, he represents England at youth international level.
