Each county committee can appoint bonus members based on a formula that theoretically could add 312 seats,although that formula currently calls for only about 50 seats.
Samuel Leon Jones is an American politician who is a member of the Alabama House of Representatives representing district 99. Jones was the first African-American mayor of Mobile,Alabama,serving from September 2005 until August 2013. He ran on a platform of safety,efficient government,historic preservation and bringing new employers to the city.
During President Ronald Reagan's presidency,he nominated two people for the Supreme Court and at least twelve people for various federal appellate judgeships who were not confirmed. In some cases,the nominations were not processed by the Democratic-controlled Senate Judiciary Committee before Reagan's presidency ended,while in other cases,nominees were rejected by the Senate Judiciary Committee or even blocked by unfriendly members of the Republican Party.
