RabbiDovid Kohn (January 1, 1947 [ O.S. December 19, 1946]; AM 10 Tevet 5707), known to adherents of the Toldos Aharon movement as theAharoner Rebbe, is an Orthodox rabbi and the Rebbe of the Toldos Aharon Hasidic dynasty. He is the son of Avrohom Yitzchok Kohn, and maternal descendant of Aharon Roth. [1] [2]
Kohn was born in Jerusalem to Avrohom Yitzchok Kohn. His mother was the daughter of Aharon Roth.[ citation needed ]
As a child, his family moved to Monsey, New York. He married Hinda Kohn, the daughter of Naftali Tzvi Labin, the current Rebbe of the Ziditshover dynasty, after a brief encounter in London. [3]
Rabbi Dovid Kohn succeeded his father as the Rebbe of the Toldos Aharon Hasidic dynasty after his father's death in 1996; [4] his rabbinic court and primary leadership are in Jerusalem's Mea Shearim neighborhood, the historical center of the dynasty. The community retains strict internal norms and a high degree of separation from secular Israeli society, which they view as illegitimate.[ citation needed ]
