Dragan Vulin [1] (born 1 May 1986) is a Croatian politician and scientist.
Vulin was born in Osijek in 1986. He graduated from secondary school in 2005. [2] He studied electrical engineering at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology Osijek (FERIT). He obtained his first (BEng) degree in 2008, and second (MEng) degree in 2010. He received a PhD degree in electrical engineering from the Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology Osijek (FERIT) in 2020. During his studies, he won the University of Osijek Rector's Award [5] as well as the Croatian Energy Association „Hrvoje Pozar“ award. [6]
Vulin was employed at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technology Osijek (FERIT) as a research assistant from 2010 to 2020 and now he is employed as a postdoctoral researcher. He authored several scientific papers in the field of electromagnetism, circuit theory, renewable energy sources, and power electronics. [7] [8]
He served as a deputy prefect of Osijek-Baranja County [9] from 2013 to 2017 and as a president of the County Assembly of Osijek-Baranja County [10] and as a member of the City Council of Osijek [11] from 2017 to 2021. In 2021, he was elected as a deputy mayor of City of Osijek. [12] He is a member of political party Hrvatska demokratska zajednica (HDZ). [13]
He was an International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) participant on the project: "Current US Social, Political and Economic Issues for Young European Leaders" in 2019. [14] [15] [16]
Osijek is the fourth-largest city in Croatia, with a population of 96,848 in 2021. It is the largest city and the economic and cultural centre of the eastern Croatian region of Slavonia, as well as the administrative centre of Osijek-Baranja County. Osijek is on the right bank of the Drava River, 25 km (16 mi) upstream of its confluence with the Danube, at an elevation of 94 m (308 ft).
The Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, commonly known as the University of Osijek (UNIOS), is a public university based in Osijek, Croatia. Established in 1975, it is the flagship institution of higher education in Slavonia, and one of the largest and oldest universities in Croatia.
ŽNK Osijek is a Croatian women's football based in Osijek. It was founded in 1990 and is the most successful team in Croatian women's football with 24 Croatian championship titles. The 2010–11 title was won without dropping a single point in all of their 20 league games; last such success was in the season 2001–02. They also won the Croatian Women's Football Cup 19 times out of 31 editions.

Osijek prison massacre was a massacre which was committed by the members of OZNA. Shortly after Second World War finished, 25 October 1945, they killed 48 Croatian war prisoners by throwing bombs and shooting them with firearms.

The 2018–19 Croatian Women's Football Cup was the twenty-eighth season of the annual Croatian football cup competition. Fourteen teams participated in the competition, all ten teams from the 2018–19 Croatian Women's First Football League and four teams from second level that applied for competition. The competition began on 6 October 2018 and will end on 9 June 2019 with the final in Krapina, a nominally neutral venue. Split were defending champions and successfully defended their title after beating Osijek in the final. Katarina Zrinski and Graničar Đurđevac received bye to the quarter-finals.
Mislav Grgić is a university professor, scientist, Ph.D. in technical sciences, and electrical engineer. He served as a Dean of FER from 2014 until 2018. He was the Head of the Alumni Community of FER from 2018 until 2022, with more than 20,000 members, and he was a Special Advisor to the Rector of the University of Zagreb for STEM Disciplines and International Projects from 2015 until 2022. He is a full member of the Academia Europaea - The Academy of Europe and a full member of the Croatian Academy of Engineering. He was a science advisor to the President of the Management Board of Končar - Electrical Industry, the largest electrical engineering company in Croatia.
The 2019–20 Croatian First Football League was the 29th season of the Croatian First Football League, the national championship for men's association football teams in Croatia, since its establishment in 1992. The season started on 19 July 2019. It was temporarily postponed from 12 March to 5 June 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
