The success of this film saw him garner opportunities to work in bigger film projects and in the late 1990s, he featured in a series of breakthrough films such as Kannedhirey Thondrinal (1998), Kaadhal Kavithai (1998), Jodi (1999), Parthen Rasithen (2000) and Piriyadha Varam Vendum (2001).

Jai Bhim is a 2021 Indian Tamil-language legal drama film directed by T. J. Gnanavel and produced by Jyothika and Suriya under 2D Entertainment. The film stars Suriya, Lijomol Jose and Manikandan with Rajisha Vijayan, Prakash Raj, Guru Somasundaram and Rao Ramesh others in supporting roles. The film deals with the subject of police bias and state violence against a marginalised community. Based on a true incident in 1993, which involves a case fought by Justice K. Shanmugam under the banner of Avni Cinemax and Benzz Media (P) Ltd. The film stars Jiiva, Jai and Srikanth in the lead roles, while Malvika Sharma, Amritha Aiyer, Raiza Wilson, Aishwarya Dutta, Samyuktha Shanmuganathan and Dhivyadharshini appear in prominent roles. The film's music and score is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, with cinematography handled by E. Krishnasamy and editing done by Fenny Oliver. This was the posthumous film of noted actor-director Pratap Pothen, who died on 15 July 2022 from natural causes.
Kida is a 2023 Indian Tamil-language drama film written and directed by Ra. Venkat. Produced by Sravanthi Ravi Kishore under the production banner Sri Sravanthi Movies, the film stars Kaali Venkat and Poo Ramu in the lead roles, and Dileep and Pandiyamma in supporting roles. The film was released theatrically on 11 November 2023.
