Dudelange communal council (French : Conseil communal de Dudelange; Luxembourgish: Diddelenger Gemengerot) is the local council for the commune of Dudelange (Luxem-bourgish: Diddeleng), in southern Luxembourg.
It consists of seventeen members, elected every six years by proportional representation. [1] The last elections were held on 9 October 2005, and resulted in a victory for the Luxembourg Socialist Workers' Party (LSAP). In the collège échevinal (Luxembourgish: Schäfferot; English: Board of Aldermen), the LSAP rules outright, under the leadership of mayor Alex Bodry. [1]

The politics of Luxembourg takes place in a framework of a parliamentary representative democratic monarchy, whereby the Prime Minister of Luxembourg is the head of government, and the multi-party system. Executive power is under the constitution of 1868, as amended, exercised by the government, by the Grand Duke and the Council of Government (cabinet), which consists of a prime minister and several other ministers. Usually the prime minister is the leader of the political party or coalition of parties having the most seats in parliament. Legislative power is vested in both the government and parliament. The judiciary is independent of the executive and the legislature.
Esch-sur-Alzette is a commune with town status in south-western Luxembourg. It is the country's second "city", and its second-most populous commune, with a population of 35,040 inhabitants, as of 2018. It lies in the south-west of the country, on the border with France and in the valley of the Alzette, which flows through the town. The town is usually referred to as just Esch; however, the full name distinguishes it from the village and commune of Esch-sur-Sûre which lies 45 kilometres further north. The country's capital, Luxembourg City, is roughly 15 km (9.3 mi) to the north-east.
Dudelange is a commune with town status in southern Luxembourg. It is the fourth-most populous commune, with 19,734 inhabitants. Dudelange is situated close to the border with France.

Paul Wilwertz was a Luxembourgian politician for the Luxembourg Socialist Workers' Party (LSAP). He was Mayor of Luxembourg City for five years, as well as sitting in the Chamber of Deputies and holding positions in the government.
Bernard 'Benny' Berg was a Luxembourgish politician and trade unionist. In the 1970s, Berg was a leading member of the Luxembourg Socialist Workers' Party, sitting in the Chamber of Deputies and the communal council of Dudelange. When fellow LSAP deputy Raymond Vouel left the government to join the European Commission, Berg took Vouel's place in the Thorn Ministry as Deputy Prime Minister under Gaston Thorn. He would serve in the government again under Pierre Werner.

Louis Rech; born Luigi Rech; was a Luxembourgish politician and trade unionist. A member of the Luxembourg Socialist Workers' Party, Rech served as Mayor of Dudelange between 1985 and 1993.
