Dunderbeist

Dunderbeist (sort of Norwegian for "Noisy Beast") is a heavy metal band from Hedmark in Norway. The band was formed by former members of Krace, KITE and Stonegard. Dunderbeist has been recording since 2008 with several albums and extensive touring. The six-piece band now releases material outside Norway following its first international album, Black Arts & Crooked Tails.

Songs of the Buried continued where Black arts & Crooked Tails left off, but is darker, heavier and more progressive, both musically and lyrically. Death was a recurring theme on the album, portraying death as the end of something but the beginning of something else.

The band's albums were recorded in Dunderbeist's own "pigsty" studio in Hamar, Norway, and mixed by the guitarist Fredrik Ryberg. The mastering was carried out by Alan Douches of Mastodon, Converge, Kvelertak fame.

Dunderbeist's work is released by the Indie Recordings label.

Meshuggah is a Swedish extreme metal band formed in Umeå in 1987. The band's current lineup consists of lead vocalist Jens Kidman, guitarists Fredrik Thordendal and Mårten Hagström, drummer Tomas Haake and bassist Dick Lövgren. Since its formation, the band has released nine studio albums, six EPs and eight music videos. Their latest studio album, Immutable, was released on 1 April 2022 via Atomic Fire Records.

Jørn Lande is a Norwegian hard rock and heavy metal singer and songwriter. Considered one of the best voices in the world in these musical genres, he is known for his work with the bands Ark, Beyond Twilight, Millenium, Vagabond, the Snakes, and most notably with power metal band Masterplan. He is also the most recurrent guest singer of the international supergroup Avantasia, and has worked as lead and guest singer in several projects. Solefald is a Norwegian avant-garde metal/black metal band that was formed by members Lars Are "Lazare" Nedland and Cornelius Jakhelln in August 1995, with Nedland singing and playing keyboard/synthesizer/piano and drums, and Jakhelln singing and playing guitar and bass. The duo experiment with a wide array of musical styles, frequently work on other projects, and rarely perform live under the Solefald name, leading them to describe themselves as "two stubborn goats pretending to be a band." Keep of Kalessin is an extreme metal band from Trondheim, Norway formed in 1993. The group's early lineup consisted of Ghash on vocals, Obsidian C. on guitars and keyboards, Warach on bass, and Vyl on drums. They released two albums under this lineup: Through Times of War in 1997, and Agnen: A Journey Through the Dark in 1999, before splitting up. Obsidian C. then toured with Satyricon, but revived the Keep of Kalessin name for a 2003 EP, Reclaim. In 2006, he reconstituted the group with a new lineup and released a third full-length, Armada. They toured with Behemoth and Dimmu Borgir early in 2008. Their fourth album Kolossus was released on June 6, 2008. They take their name from Ursula K. Le Guin's Earthsea series of books, where Kalessin is the name of the arch-dragon who is the bearer of the Earthsea world. Keep of Kalessin was nominated for a Spellemannprisen in the metal category in 2008.

The album marked a departure from the band's previous unblack metal and Viking metal style, instead performing a broader mix of extreme metal, progressive metal, and melodic death metal. The album was met with a highly positive critical reception. In 2018, the members of Vardøger opted to disband.
