In the 1967 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election, he obtained 14,944 votes (41.37%). In the 1969 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election, he obtained 22,766 votes (54.14%). As a legislator he managed to convince the state government to set up a tertiary educational facility in his constituency, leading to the foundation of the Kabi Nazrul College. In the 1971 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election, he obtained 16,310 votes (53.73%). Bazle Ahmed lost the Murarai seat in the 1972 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election, finishing in second place with 11,627 votes (29.49%).
Gajendra Gurung (1937-2005) was an Indian politician. He was born in Kalimpong on January 3, 1937. He was the son of former Congress minister Nar Bahadur Gurung. His uncle had founded the Akhil Bharatiya Gorkha League. Gajendra Gurung studied at Government High School and S.U.M.I. College in Kalimpong.

Madan Mohan Mahato was an Indian politician, belonging to the Indian National Congress. He was born on 2 January 1927 in Agardih village. He was the son of Joyram Mahato. He went to school at Hulmura H.E. School. Mahato worked as a school teacher. He lived in Agardih village and served as an office bearer in a number of local association there. In the Indian National Congress he served as the Kashipur Block Congress Committee Vice President and was a member of the Purulia District Congress Committee.
