Durgadas Bauri was an Indian politician, belonging to the Indian National Congress. He was born on January 15, 1942, in Raghunathpur. [1] He was the son of Yugal Chandra Bauri. [1] He went to school at Godi Bero High School. [1]

Mahata contested the Raghunathpur constituency seat in the 1971 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election, finishing in second place with 8,282 votes (28.36)%). [2] The following year he won the Raghunathpur seat in the 1972 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election, obtaining 13,846 votes (50.66%). [3] Bauri lost the Raghunathpur seat in the 1977 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election, finishing in fourth place with 6,159 votes (18.51%). [4] In the 1982 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election he finished in second place in Raghunathpur, obtaining 18,935 votes (31.64%). [5]

Bauri died in 2003. [6]

As a legislator he managed to convince the state government to set up a tertiary educational facility in his constituency, leading to the foundation of the Kabi Nazrul College. In the 1971 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election, he obtained 16,310 votes (53.73%). Bazle Ahmed lost the Murarai seat in the 1972 West Bengal Legislative Assembly election, finishing in second place with 11,627 votes (29.49%).

Gajendra Gurung (1937-2005) was an Indian politician. He was born in Kalimpong on January 3, 1937. He was the son of former Congress minister Nar Bahadur Gurung. His uncle had founded the Akhil Bharatiya Gorkha League. Gajendra Gurung studied at Government High School and S.U.M.I. College in Kalimpong.

Ghiasuddin Ahmad was an Indian politician. He was born in Kalinagar on January 1, 1927. He was the son of Mohammad Samad Ali. He studied at Krishnanagar Government College and Union Christian Training College, obtaining B.A. (Hons.) and B.T. degrees. He worked as school teacher. He served as secretary of the Nadia District Congress Committee.

Thakurdas Mahata was an Indian politician, belonging to the Communist Party of India. He was born in Khayerdanga. He was the son of Baikunthanath Mahata. Mahata received education at Bhimpore Santal High School and Midnapore College, obtaining a B.A. (Hons.) degree and a diploma in Physical Education. He worked as a school teacher He joined the Communist Party in 1956. He was active in the struggle against the proposed merger of West Bengal and Bihar and took part in the food movement and the struggles of the secondary school teachers.

Madan Mohan Mahato was an Indian politician, belonging to the Indian National Congress. He was born on 2 January 1927 in Agardih village. He was the son of Joyram Mahato. He went to school at Hulmura H.E. School. Mahato worked as a school teacher. He lived in Agardih village and served as an office bearer in a number of local association there. In the Indian National Congress he served as the Kashipur Block Congress Committee Vice President and was a member of the Purulia District Congress Committee.
