Dustin Wesley "Dusty" Redmon (born May 23, 1982) is an American guitarist primarily known for playing in alternative rock band The Almost and former guitarist and songwriter for Beloved and Dead Poetic. He is cousins with his former bandmate, Joe Musten. [1]
In 1999, along with Josh Moore, Joe Musten, John Brehm, and Matt Harrison (replacing founding member Shawn Dallas), Redmon formed influential indie/hardcore band Beloved. The band released an EP called The Running on Vindicated Records (later released by Solid State Records) and a full-length LP entitled Failure On. The band toured extensively for 5 years, alongside bands like Norma Jean, Underoath, My Chemical Romance, Avenged Sevenfold, Zao, Further Seems Forever, Between the Buried and Me, Armor for Sleep, and many others. The band dissolved in 2005 after drummer Musten left the band.
After relocating to Philadelphia and marrying long-time love interest Amanda Vaughn, Redmon joined friends and labelmates Dead Poetic. The band did light touring in his two-year stint, and recorded an album entitled Vices in January and February 2006. Shortly before the release of Vices, lead vocalist Brandon Rike agreed to participate in one last tour with The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus before leaving Dead Poetic. The musicians did not want to continue without Brandon and decided to put Dead Poetic on hold. Since then, the band has not been seen on tour but original members claim they will record one final album with Tooth & Nail Records. Dusty Redmon and bass player John Brehm left Dead Poetic in the fall of 2006 and Dusty joined The Almost as a guitar player. [2]
Long-time friend Aaron Gillespie had invited Redmon to play guitar for his new project, The Almost in early September 2006. Redmon denied, thinking he was leaving for a tour with Dead Poetic. Only a couple of weeks later, he'd find out he'd be bandless. A few months went by, and Dusty received another call from Gillespie. Redmon jumped at the chance to be in a band with an old friend, and in early 2007 began rehearsing. The Almost released a record entitled Southern Weather on April 3, and toured with Saves the Day and Say Anything, as well as Paramore, This Providence, and Love Arcade to support it. The band has since gone on to tour the US several times as well as being a part of 2010's Soundwaves Festivals in Australia. In 2009, the band released the follow-up to Southern Weather, entitled Monster, Monster. Redmon and bandmates contributed writing and performing on this record after Gillespie's prior solo offering. The band appeared on many public television shows, such as MTV and Fuse. In 2015, Gillespie announced that the band was "being put to rest".
Solid State Records is a metalcore record label, an imprint of Tooth & Nail Records. Unlike Tooth & Nail, Solid State signs hardcore punk and heavy metal bands. Like Tooth & Nail, Solid State is primarily a Christian label. However, it signed several bands with Christian members which don't label themselves as Christian bands, including Stretch Arm Strong, Gwen Stacy, He Is Legend, the Famine, Training for Utopia, and the Agony Scene.

Define the Great Line is the fifth studio album by American rock band Underoath. It was released on June 20, 2006, through Tooth & Nail Records. Five months after the release of their fourth studio album They're Only Chasing Safety, the band were already in the process of working towards its follow-up. Recording took place between January and March 2006 at Zing Recording Studios in Westfield, Massachusetts, and Glow in the Dark Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, with Adam Dutkiewicz of Killswitch Engage, Matt Goldman and the band as producers. Define the Great Line is predominantly a metalcore and emo album, which has also been tagged as Christian metal, post-metal and post-hardcore. The variety of styles was an unintentional move by the band, who took influence from At the Drive-In, Beloved and Cult of Luna, among others.
The Classic Crime is an American rock band from Seattle, Washington, formed in 2004. The band's current lineup consists of Matt MacDonald, Alan Clark (bass), Robert "Cheeze" Negrin (guitar), and Paul "Skip" Erickson. They have released three albums and an EP on Tooth & Nail Records, two of which, The Silver Cord (2008) and Vagabonds (2010), charted in the Billboard 200. In July 2011, the band left Tooth & Nail to produce a fourth album with the help of fan donations via Kickstarter, called Phoenix (2012). After the success they found in the crowdfunding approach with Phoenix, the band continued using Kickstarter as a means to fund their albums, subsequently releasing What Was Done: Vol. 1 in 2014, How to Be Human in 2017, Patterns in the Static in 2020, and Grim Age in 2023.
Vices is the third full-length album by Christian hard rock band Dead Poetic. The album was released on October 31, 2006 through Tooth & Nail Records. Aaron Sprinkle once again produced the album, and Chino Moreno of Deftones contributed guest vocals to "Paralytic." Lead vocalist Brandon Rike left the band shortly before the album's release and the band's remaining members opted not to continue with the band, although recently it has been stated that the band has not broken up, and will continue writing music.

They decided to go on a hiatus; Lost in the Sound of Separation was recorded at Glow in the Dark Studios in Atlanta, Georgia in March and April 2008. The band produced the album with Adam Dutkiewicz and Matt Goldman, both of whom worked on Define the Great Line. The album has been described as metalcore, post-hardcore and screamo, with elements of industrial, recalling the works of Refused, At the Drive-In, and Cult of Luna.

Advent is a hardcore band from Kernersville, North Carolina. The band featured members of an earlier post-hardcore band named Beloved, and was formed in 2005 after the break of Beloved. The band had released two albums under the label Solid State Records. The band announced in July 2011 that they had disbanded, and held two final shows on September 2 and 3 in South Carolina and North Carolina, respectively. The band, as of 2015, had reunited and is releasing a new album titled, Pain and Suffering. The band has recently signed to Bridge 9. The group has been called "...one of the state's heaviest exports..."

The band lapsed into inactivity in 2007 due to internal strife and inability to tour, though Rike has stated that the band plans to record a fourth album.

In 2008, he joined the band The Almost after former drummer Kenny Bozich quit the band. Joe was featured in the December 2009 issue of DRUM Magazine alongside former bandmate Aaron Gillespie. He formed the band, Torn, and was featured on the self-titled debut album, but was un-credited.
