Duvindu Tillakaratne (born 9 September 1996) is a Sri Lankan cricketer. [1] He is the son of Sri Lankan Test cricketer Hashan Tillakaratne, and the twin brother of Ravindu Tillakaratne. [2] [3]

He made his first-class debut for Badureliya Sports Club in the 2016–17 Premier League Tournament on 9 December 2016. [4] He made his List A debut for Ampara District in the 2016–17 Districts One Day Tournament on 15 March 2017. [5]

He was the leading wicket-taker for Burgher Recreation Club in the 2018–19 Premier League Tournament, with 34 dismissals in nine matches. [6] In November 2019, he was named in Sri Lanka's squad for the men's cricket tournament at the 2019 South Asian Games. [7] The Sri Lanka team won the silver medal, after they lost to Bangladesh by seven wickets in the final. [8] He was the leading wicket-taker in the 2019–20 Premier League Tournament, with 61 dismissals in nine matches. [9]

In October 2020, he was drafted by the Galle Gladiators for the inaugural edition of the Lanka Premier League. [10]

He was the leading wicket taker in the 2022 major clubs limited over tournament with 36 wickets in 12 matches.

He is a recipient of the prestigious “Trinity Lion”, which he earned by surpassing the magical 100 wicket mark in his final season for Trinity College, Kandy.

The tournament started on 9 March 2018 and finished on 25 March 2018. Rain affected the first few days of fixtures, with several games ending as a no result.

Fourteen teams took part in Tier A of the competition, split into two groups of seven. Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club finished in last place in the previous tournament, and were relegated to Tier B for this season. Negombo Cricket Club replaced them for this years' competition after they won the 2017–18 Premier League Tournament Tier B title. Chilaw Marians Cricket Club were the defending champions.

The 2019–20 Premier League Tournament was the 32nd season of first-class cricket in Sri Lanka's Premier Trophy. The tournament started on 31 January 2020 and was originally scheduled to conclude on 12 April 2020. Fourteen teams took part in the competition, split into two groups of seven. Sri Lanka Ports Authority Cricket Club were relegated at the end of the previous tournament, with Lankan Cricket Club replacing them in this tournament after they gained promotion from Tier B. Colombo Cricket Club were the defending champions.
