Dylan Howard is an American basketball coach. He is the former head coach of the Alabama A&M Bulldogs men's basketball team. [1] [2]
Howard played college basketball at UAB under Gene Bartow. [3] He was part of two Blazers' NCAA Tournament appearances in 1986 and 1987, as well as the team's 1989 NIT semifinals appearance. [2]
Beginning his coaching career in his hometown of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Howard became an assistant coach at the University of Saint Francis where he was on staff for four seasons before joining the coaching staff at Robert Morris. In 2001, Howard was named the head coach at Division III Hardin–Simmons. [4] In his tenure with the Cowboys, Howard compiled a 78–103 record, while guiding the team to its first-ever league tournament appearance and league finals appearance, being named American Southwest Conference Coach of the Year in 2005. [1] Howard would return to the Division I ranks joining Sean Woods's staff at Mississippi Valley State from 2008 to 2011. After a one-year stint as head coach at North Park University, Howard reunited with Woods at Morehead State. [5] [6]
In 2017, Howard became an assistant coach at Alabama A&M under Donnie Marsh. [7] When Marsh departed for an assistant coaching position at Florida Gulf Coast in 2018, Howard was named the interim head coach for the 2018–19 season. [8] After a 5–27 record under the interim title, Alabama A&M lifted the interim title. [9] [2]

Michael Davis is an American basketball coach. He was most recently the head men's basketball coach at the University of Detroit Mercy, a position he held from 2018 to 2024. Davis also served as the head men's basketball coach at Indiana University Bloomington from 2000 to 2006, the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) from 2006 to 2012, and Texas Southern University from 2012 to 2018.

The Alabama Crimson Tide men's basketball team represents the University of Alabama in NCAA Division I men's basketball. The program plays in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). In the conference it trails only long-time basketball powerhouse Kentucky in SEC tournament titles, is third behind Kentucky and Arkansas in total wins, and is third behind Kentucky and Tennessee in SEC regular season conference titles. Alabama was retroactively recognized as the pre-NCAA tournament national champion for the 1929–30 season by the Premo-Porretta Power Poll. The team has appeared in the NCAA tournament 24 times, most recently in 2024, and has made ten Sweet Sixteens, two Elite Eights, and one Final Four in the tournament. The Eagles, led by interim head coach Preston Spradlin, played their home games at Ellis Johnson Arena in Morehead, Kentucky as members of the East Division of the Ohio Valley Conference. The Eagles finished the season 14–16, 10–6 in OVC play to finish in second place in the East Division. In the OVC tournament they lost to Murray State in the quarterfinals.
