Dylan McCaffrey (born March 25, 1999) is an American football quarterback for the Michigan Wolverines. He is the son of former National Football League (NFL) wide receiver Ed McCaffrey and the younger brother of Max McCaffrey and Christian McCaffrey, who have also played in the NFL. He has a younger brother, Luke, who is also playing quarterback at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln.
McCaffrey was a two-sport star at Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. As a two-year starting quarterback, McCaffrey led the Valor Christian Eagles to a 22–6 record and back-to-back Class 5A state championships. [1] In his four years at Valor Christian, he helped the Eagles to three state championships in total and a 1-point loss in the 2014 state championship game to Cherry Creek High School. [2] Throughout his high school football career, McCaffrey had 9,900 offensive yards and 120 touchdowns.
McCaffrey was also on the Eagels' basketball team. In his senior season, he averaged 12.4 points, 3.7 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 21 games to help the 24–4 Eagles win the Class 4A state championship. [3]
As a football recruit, McCaffrey was rated a four-star quarterback, including the #1 pro-style quarterback and #25 prospect by ESPN, the #2 pro-style quarterback and #44 prospect by 247Sports Composite, and the #3 quarterback and #39 prospect by Scout.com. [4] on February 15, 2016, McCaffey committed to play football at Michigan over other schools including LSU, Penn State, Nebraska, UCLA and Colorado. McCaffrey redshirted as a freshman in 2017 and spent most of the 2018 season as a backup to starting quarterback Shea Patterson. McCaffrey played his first college game on September 1, 2018. In the season opener against Notre Dame, he completed 4-of-6 passes for 22 yards and had 3 rushes for 10 yards. [8] The following week, he threw his first touchdown with a 18-yard pass in a 49–3 win against Western Michigan. [9] On November 3, in a 42–7 win over Penn State, McCaffey broke his collarbone on the final possession of the game when he rushed for 7 yards on a zone-read play as a backup quarterback. [10] For the 2018 season, McCaffrey appeared in six games, rushed 10 times for 99 yards and a touchdown, and completed 8-of-15 passes for 126 yards and two touchdowns.
In the 2019 season, McCaffrey once again served as the backup to starting quarterback Patterson.

Dylan McCaffrey is the second youngest of four sons in the McCaffrey family.

Jon Kelly Kitna is a former American football coach and former quarterback. After playing college football for Central Washington University, he signed with the Seattle Seahawks in 1996 and was allocated to the Barcelona Dragons of NFL Europe in 1997. He led the Dragons to a World Bowl championship, and became the starting quarterback for the Seahawks in 1998 after spending the 1997 and most of the 1998 seasons as the backup to Warren Moon. Following a four-year stint with Seattle, Kitna signed with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2001. He played for the Bengals from 2001 to 2005 as their starting quarterback, and, later, the mentor to Carson Palmer. He was a member of the Detroit Lions from 2006 to 2008, and the Dallas Cowboys from 2009 to 2011.
Edward Thomas McCaffrey is an American football coach and former wide receiver who played in the National Football League (NFL) for thirteen seasons. McCaffrey played college football for Stanford University and earned first-team All-American honors. The New York Giants chose him in the third round of the 1991 NFL Draft. He also played for the San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos. He is currently the head coach of the Northern Colorado Bears football team.
Daniel John Orlovsky is a former American football quarterback who played thirteen seasons in the National Football League (NFL) and a football analyst for ESPN. He was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the fifth round of the 2005 NFL Draft. He played college football at the University of Connecticut. Orlovsky also played for the Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Los Angeles Rams.
Drew Emeric Stanton is an American football quarterback for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the second round of the 2007 NFL Draft. Matthew James "Matt" McGloin is an American football quarterback for the New York Guardians of the XFL. He was the starting quarterback for the Penn State Nittany Lions football team from 2010 to 2012. He is the first walk-on quarterback to start at Penn State since scholarships were reinstated in 1949. Prior to his college career, McGloin was a Pennsylvania all-state quarterback while attending West Scranton High School.
Clark "C. J." Brown, Jr. is a former American football quarterback. He played college football at the University of Maryland and was the Terrapins starting quarterback in 2011, 2013 and 2014. In 2011, Brown broke the school's 61-year-old single-game rushing record for a quarterback with 162 yards against No. 8 Clemson.
Brett Alan Hundley Jr. is an American football quarterback for the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the UCLA Bruins, where he was the school's career leader in both total offense and touchdown passes. He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft, and started nine games for them in 2017 following a collarbone injury to Aaron Rodgers.

Connor Cook is an American football quarterback who plays for the Houston Roughnecks of the XFL. He played college football for the Michigan State Spartans and was their starting quarterback from 2013 to 2015. He holds the record for most career wins at Michigan State. Cook was selected in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders. After initially serving as the third-string backup to Derek Carr and Matt McGloin, Cook played in his first NFL game in the Raiders' last regular season game of the 2016 NFL season after Carr and McGloin suffered injuries. Following this, he was named the starter for the Raiders' playoff game against the Houston Texans and became the first quarterback in NFL history to make his first career start in a playoff game.
Jacob Eason is a former collegiate American football quarterback for the Washington Huskies. Eason attended Lake Stevens High School in Lake Stevens, Washington, and was rated by Rivals as a five-star recruit. He was ranked as the best pro-style quarterback and best player overall in the 2016 class. Eason committed to the University of Georgia to play college football on July 19, 2014. On January 12, 2018, he announced via his Twitter account that he would transfer from the University of Georgia. On February 6, 2018 he officially transferred to the University of Washington. He had to sit out the 2018 season because of NCAA transfer eligibility rules. Eason decided to forgo his senior season at the University of Washington and enter the 2020 NFL Draft.

Christian Jackson McCaffrey is an American football running back for the Carolina Panthers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Stanford, and was drafted by the Panthers with the eighth overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. As a sophomore in 2015, McCaffrey was the AP College Football Player of the Year and the runner-up for the Heisman Trophy. He holds the NCAA record for most all-purpose yards in a season with 3,864. McCaffrey holds numerous NFL and Carolina Panthers franchise records and is a member of the 1,000 yards rushing and 1,000 yards receiving in a season club.
Robert Wilton Speight III is an American football quarterback who is currently a free agent. He played college football for the UCLA Bruins and Michigan Wolverines. In high school he was a 2014 Under Armour All-America Game selection and subsequently played college football for the Michigan Wolverines. Speight redshirted in 2014 and was the backup quarterback in 2015. As a redshirt sophomore in 2016, he started 12 games and earned third-team All-Big Ten honors. In 2017, Speight started four games before suffering a season-ending injury. In April 2018, Speight announced that he would be transferring to UCLA.

The Wolverines competed in the East Division of the Big Ten Conference and played their home games at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Michigan was coached by Jim Harbaugh, who was in his fifth season.
