The Super 8 Tournament is an annual professional wrestling tournament held by the East Coast Wrestling Association. The tournament is contested by eight wrestlers in a one-night single-elimination format. [1]
The ECWA Super 8 Tournament was first held in 1997 and was won by Ace Darling. [1] The 2011 tournament was broadcast live as an internet pay-per-view for the first time. [1] [2] The 2011 tournament was also the first time the tournament had been held outside of Delaware. [3] Christopher Daniels and Darius Carter are the only two time winners.

The inaugural Super 8 Tournament took part on February 22, 1997, at the St. Matthew's Parish in Wilmington, Delaware. [17] [18] In the tournament finals, Ace Darling defeated Cheetah Master (accompanied by WWE Hall of Famer Lou Albano) to win the tournament and the vacant ECWA Television Championship. [4] [17]

Patrick Joseph Michael Kenney is an American retired professional wrestler and baseball player, better known by his ring name, Simon Diamond. He is currently working for the National Wrestling Alliance as Director of Talent Relations. Diamond is best known for his appearances with Extreme Championship Wrestling from 1998 to 2001.
Showdown at Shea was the name given to three nights of entertainment presented by the WWE, at Flushing, New York's Shea Stadium. The events were held in 1972, 1976, and 1980.
The Heavenly Bodies is a professional wrestling tag team famous for having worked in Smoky Mountain Wrestling, the World Wrestling Federation, and various independent promotions. Scott Wright is an American professional wrestler and bodybuilder, better known by his ring name, Mr. Scott Wright. He is also known for his appearances under the ring name Scotty Charisma.

Mark Shrader is a retired American professional wrestler, trainer and promoter who competed in numerous independent promotions throughout the United States during the 1990s and early 2000s. Among these included Atlantic Terror Championship Wrestling, the Future Wrestling Alliance, East Coast Wrestling Association, Cueball Carmichael's Independent Professional Wrestling Alliance, Doug Flex's International Pro Wrestling, and the Mid-Eastern Wrestling Federation. Shrader also briefly appeared as a preliminary wrestler for the World Wrestling Federation.
David John Markland is an American professional wrestler & promoter, better known as D. J. Hyde.
