EC Graz was an Austrian ice hockey team from Graz, Styria, playing in the Austrian Hockey League and Alpenliga in the 1990s.
The EC Graz (also called "the elephants") emerged in 1990 when the UEC Graz and ATSE Graz were merged. [2] ATSE Graz finished 2nd in the Austrian National League and therefore qualified for the Austrian Hockey League season 1989/90. UEC Graz, which was founded in 1985, [3] qualified for the Austrian National League the same year. [4] Both clubs united in April 1990, in the following season ATSE was removed from the name. The club experienced its heyday under President Hannes Kartnig, finishing three times the runner-up title in the seasons 1991-92, 1992–93 and 1993–94 despite running at a high financial cost. Accompanying marketing made ice hockey popular in Graz in this period, but in 1998 the club went bankrupt shortly after the departure of its president Hannes Kartnig. [5] The EHC Graz was established in 1998 to rescue ice hockey in Graz, just to become bankrupt the same year. In 1999 Jochen Pildner-Steinburg founded the Graz 99ers as the successor club of the EC Graz to offer Hockey League back in the Styrian capital.
Vienna Capitals are an Austrian professional ice hockey club who participate in the Erste Bank Hockey League. Founded in 2001, the Capitals play their home games in Vienna, Austria, at Albert Schultz Eishalle. In the 2004–05 season, the Capitals claimed their first Austrian Championship in defeating EC KAC.
The Moser Medical Graz99ers are an Austrian professional ice hockey team from Graz, Styria. The club was founded in 1999 after the previous club, EHC Graz, folded prior to the 1998–99 season due to financial difficulties. The Graz99ers started in the 1999–2000 season in the Austrian National League, Austria's second division, where they were crowned instant champions. Since the 2000–01 season they have been playing in the ICE Hockey League (IceHL).

Klagenfurt Athletic Sports Club or EC KAC is a professional ice hockey team in the ICE Hockey League. The team plays their home games in Klagenfurt, Carinthia, Austria at Stadthalle Klagenfurt. EC KAC has won the most Austrian ice hockey Championships, a total of 32 times including 11 consecutive titles from 1964 to 1974, and four consecutive from 1985 to 1988. Most recently they won it in 2021.
Dornbirn Bulldogs are a professional ice hockey team in Dornbirn, Vorarlberg, Austria, who have played in the Austrian Hockey League (IceHL), the first level of ice hockey in Austria, since 2012. The club was founded in 1992 and in 2001, began play in the Austrian National League. In their 11 years in the National League, Austria's second-tier league, Dornbirn celebrated two titles in 2008 and 2010.

Miha Verlič is a Slovenian professional ice hockey forward currently playing for the EC VSV of the Austrian Hockey League (EBEL). He previously played with HDD Olimpija Ljubljana in the EBEL before joining fellow EBEL competitors, Graz 99ers on a two-year deal on 6 May 2014.

Hans Dobida is an Austrian former ice hockey and roller in-line hockey administrator. He was involved with ATSE Graz for almost 40 years, and served as president of the Austrian Ice Hockey Association from 1977 to 1996. He helped organize hosting duties for Austria in ice hockey at the Olympic Games, and the Ice Hockey World Championships. He was a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation council from 1986 to 2008, oversaw the IIHF Continental Cup, and was part of the IIHF Inline Hockey World Championship committee. He was inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame, the German Ice Hockey Hall of Fame, the Slovenian Hockey Hall of Fame; and received the Decoration of Honour for Services to the Republic of Austria.
The 2017–18 Austrian Hockey League season began on 8 September 2017 and ended on 20 April 2018. The defending champion were the Vienna Capitals. On 20 April 2018, HC Bolzano won the Austrian Hockey Championship for the 2nd time in their history.
The 2018–19 Austrian Hockey League season began on 14 September 2018 and ended on 24 April 2019. The defending champion were HC Bolzano. On 24 April 2018, EC KAC won the Austrian Hockey Championship for the 31st time in their history.
The 2020–21 ICE Hockey League season began on 25 September 2020. The league's new title sponsor is bet-at-home.com. Due cancelling last season in the quarter-finals, there was no defending champion. On 20 April 2021, EC KAC won the Austrian Hockey Championship for the 32nd time in their history.
