According to the 2024 United States census estimate, Fort Worth's population was 996,756 making it the fourth-most populous city in the state and the 12th-most populous in the United States. Fort Worth is the second-largest city in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, which is the fourth-most populous metropolitan area in the United States and the most populous in Texas.

Marine Corps Air Station Eagle Mountain Lake was a United States Marine Corps (USMC) air station that was located 23 miles (37 km) northwest of Fort Worth, Texas during World War II, next to the lake of the same name. Commissioned on 1 December 1942, the air station was originally home to the Marine Corps military glider program. When the program was cancelled in 1943 the station was used to train USMC dive bomber pilots and later became home to the Marines' night fighter program. After the war the air station went into caretaker status in December 1946, became an outlying landing field of Naval Air Station Dallas, and was later used by the Texas Army National Guard and other branches of the U.S. military before being sold to a private owner in the 1970s. Today, the facility is a private airport run by Kenneth Copeland Ministries as Kenneth Copeland Airport.
The Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) is a water district in Texas. It provides raw water for over 2.1 million people, implements vital flood control measures and creates recreational opportunities for the residents of 11 North Texas Counties. Today, TRWD is led by a publicly elected five-member board and owns/operates four major reservoirs, including Lake Bridgeport, Eagle Mountain Lake, Cedar Creek Reservoir and Richland-Chambers Reservoir. TRWD has also constructed more than 150 miles of water pipelines, 27 miles of floodway levees, more than 72 miles of Trinity River Trails and a 2,000 acre wetland water reuse project designed to increase future water supplies for the area.
