The Texas A&M University Corps of Cadets is a student military organization at Texas A&M University. Established with the university in 1876, it is the oldest student organization on campus.
A drill team can be one of four different entities:
- A military drill team is a marching unit that performs routines based on military foot or exhibition drills. Military drill teams perform either armed or unarmed.
- A dance drill team creates routines based on precision dance movements rather than military drill. These teams usually do not carry anything, but may use props in field production numbers. They may perform to recorded music, or the live music of an accompanying marching band.
- A team that execute routines carrying either one or multiple flags or pom-poms. This team's movements are also based in dance and may also have a heavy influence of gymnastics as well. These teams also may perform to music, either live or recorded.
- A team that is mounted or advances some type of mobile object. May also include teams of dogs and handlers.
Exhibition drill is a variant of drill that involves complex marching sequences which usually deviate from drill used in the course of ordinary parades. Teams performing exhibition drill are often affiliated with military units, but the scope of exhibition drill is not limited to military drill teams. Exhibition drill is often performed by Armed Forces Precision Drill Teams, the drill teams at service academies and ROTC and JROTC units, and civilian drill teams that perform at parades, drill meets, and half-time shows and other public venues.
Thomas C. Clark High School is a public high school, in the Northside Independent School District, in San Antonio, Texas, United States. Built in 1978 with five main buildings surrounding a courtyard, this school has over 120 classrooms and is one of the largest schools in NISD. As with all Northside ISD schools, Clark is named for a former or current United States Supreme Court Justice, in this case Thomas C. Clark.
Plano East Senior High School is a public secondary school in Plano, Texas (USA) serving high school juniors and seniors, as well as freshmen and sophomores as a part of the IB World School. It is part of the Plano Independent School District and enrolls students based on the locations of students' homes. Students at Plano East attended one of two feeder high schools: McMillen or Williams.
Georgia Military College (GMC) is a public military junior college in Milledgeville, Georgia. It is divided into the junior college, a military junior college program, high school, middle school, and elementary school. It was originally known as Middle Georgia Military and Agricultural College, until 1900. Although it is a state-funded institution, GMC is not affiliated with either the University System of Georgia or the Technical College System of Georgia.
Cretin-Derham Hall High School (CDH) is a private, co-educational Catholic high school in Saint Paul, Minnesota operated by the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. It is co-sponsored by the Brothers of the Christian Schools and the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet.
Mira Mesa Senior High School (MMHS) is a public high school in the San Diego Unified School District. The school is recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School and a California Distinguished School. The school has an overall rating of 9.6/10 according to parents and students from the website greatschools.org. The school serves the Mira Mesa community as well as students participating in the San Diego Unified School Districts Voluntary Enrollment Exchange Program (VEEP).
Roy High School is a 5A secondary school founded in 1965 that serves the residents of Roy, Utah, United States.
Louis E. Dieruff High School, typically referred to as Dieruff High School, is a large, urban public high school in Allentown, Pennsylvania. It is located at 815 North Irving Street in Allentown. The school serves students in grades nine through 12 from the eastern and southern parts of the city and is part of the Allentown School District.
Jeffersonville High School is a public high school located in Jeffersonville, Indiana. The school serves students in grades 9 through 12 from Jeffersonville, Utica, and sections of Clarksville not covered by that town's own high school. The school's enrollment for the 2014–2015 school year was 2,051 students, with 123 teachers. The current principal is Pam Hall. Jeffersonville is in the school district of Greater Clark County Schools. This school district includes Charlestown addresses that are connected with the city of Jeffersonville. While most schools in other counties have a majority European ratio of students, Jeffersonville total minority enrollment is 36%.
Catalina High School is a public high school, located on the north side of Tucson, Arizona, United States. Catalina is a magnet high school in Tucson Unified School District and serves approximately 750 students in grades 9-12. The school name originates from the Santa Catalina Mountains north of Tucson. The school mascot is the Trojan, and the school colors are royal blue and white.
Brewster High School is a comprehensive public secondary school in Brewster, New York, for grades 9 – 12 with an enrollment of approximately 1,100 students and over 110 teachers and support personnel.
A drill purpose rifle is a rifle which has been altered so that it can no longer be fired. This is generally undertaken by either removing the firing pin or leading the barrel. These rifles are used solely for drill purposes, training and teaching, usually by cadet forces. These rifles can be marched with and can also be used to perform exhibition style individual or group maneuvers.
Rancho Verde High School is one of three comprehensive high schools in the Val Verde Unified School District. The school is situated on 38 acres in the southern section of Moreno Valley, California. Rancho Verde represents a community of diverse social and economic backgrounds containing both suburban and rural populations. As of 2018, the school serves 2,074 students with 24.94 full-time equivalent (FTE) teachers and 83.17 FTE staff.
Sandalwood High School is a comprehensive public high school in Jacksonville, Florida. The school is one of 47 high schools in the Duval County School District. Like all Duval County schools, it is accredited through the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. It currently has the largest school population in the district.
Burkburnett High School is a public high school located in the city of Burkburnett, Texas, United States, and classified as a 4A school by the UIL. It is a part of the Burkburnett Independent School District located in northern Wichita County. In 2015, the school was rated "met standard" by the Texas Education Agency.
Deer Park High School, located in Deer Park, Texas is a high school serving students from grades 9-12 as part of the Deer Park Independent School District. The school consists of 3 separate campuses: Deer Park High School North Campus, Deer Park High School South Campus and Deer Park High School Wolters Campus, an alternative high school.
The Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps is a federal program sponsored by the United States Armed Forces in high schools and also in some middle schools across the United States and at US military bases across the world. The program was originally created as part of the National Defense Act of 1916 and later expanded under the 1964 ROTC Vitalization Act.
Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) is a subdivision of the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC). JROTC is a junior military science elective class that is offered in many high schools across the United States. The class is the high school version of the college ROTC. The Air Force division of JROTC is composed of physical training, aerospace science academic classes, and leadership skill creation. Outside of the formal class, there are extra-curricular teams that cadets may participate in to create qualities of leadership and followership. Unlike the collegiate version of ROTC, upon completion of JROTC there is no military service required. This allows the youth of the United States to experience the military without having long-term commitments.
