The Sinai Peninsula, or simply Sinai, is a peninsula in Egypt, and the only part of the country located in Asia. It is between the Mediterranean Sea to the north and the Red Sea to the south, and is a land bridge between Asia and Africa. Sinai has a land area of about 60,000 km2 (23,000 sq mi) and a population of approximately 600,000 people. Administratively, the vast majority of the area of the Sinai Peninsula is divided into two governorates: the South Sinai Governorate and the North Sinai Governorate. Three other governorates span the Suez Canal, crossing into African Egypt: Suez Governorate on the southern end of the Suez Canal, Ismailia Governorate in the center, and Port Said Governorate in the north.

Port Fuad is considered a suburb of Port Said and together they form a metropolitan area of over one million residents. Along with the likes of Colón, Panama and Istanbul, Turkey (Asia/Europe), it is one of the few transcontinental cities in the world, in that spans it across two continents (Africa/Asia).
The Suez Port is an Egyptian port located at the northern tip of the Gulf of Suez on the Red Sea at southern entrance of the Suez Canal, serving the canal and the city of Suez. It is owned and operated by the Ministry of Transport's General Authority of Red Sea Ports, and is home to the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) shipyards.
Suez Canal Container Terminal (SCCT) is a container terminal located at Port Said East and functions as a transshipment centre for the Eastern Mediterranean at the northern entrance to the Suez Canal. The terminal has been operational since October 2004. Suez Canal Container Terminal (SCCT) is a private joint venture company that obtained the concession to build, operate, and manage this new terminal. The majority (55%) shareholding of SCCT is held by APM Terminals. 20% of the shares are held by COSCO, 10% are held by Suez Canal & Affiliates, 5% by the National Bank of Egypt (NBE), and the remaining 10% are held by the Egyptian private sector.
Ismailia Canal or the Al-Ismāʿīliyyah Canal, formerly known as the Sweet Water Canal or the Fresh Water Canal, is a canal which was dug by thousands of Egyptian fellahin to facilitate the construction of the Suez Canal. The canal travels east-west across Ismailia Governorate.
Badr is a satellite city in the Eastern Area of Cairo, Egypt. It was planned and is administered by the New Urban Communities Authority(NUCA). Badr was established in 1982 according to Prime Ministerial Decree 235/1982 allocating NUCA 3000 acres in the Eastern Desert on the Cairo-Suez Highway. It has since grown to 21,000 acres, and has a 2200 acre industrial zone that includes 564 factories, in addition to this, 501 factories are still under construction. Most factories are built with the aim of exporting to Arab, African and world markets. In 2017, the census recorded 31,299 residents.
The Suez Canal Corridor Area Project was a megaproject in Egypt that was launched on 5 August 2014 by President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and was completed in 2015. The project aimed to increase the role of the Suez Canal region in international trade and to develop the canal cities of Suez, Ismailia, and Port Said.
Ahmed Mahmoud Darwish is an Egyptian politician. He served as the first Chairman of the General Authority of Suez canal Economic Zone from 2015 to 2017. He previously served as Minister of State for Administration Development in the Nazif Cabinet between 2004 and 2011.
The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCEZ) is a special economic zone located in Egypt, established in 2015 with the aim of promoting economic growth and attracting foreign investment to the country. The zone encompasses an area of over 461 square kilometers and is located along the eastern and western banks of the Suez Canal.
