The Eastern Knights are a regional cricket club re-founded in 2016 representing the east coast of Scotland in the Cricket Scotland Regional Pro Series, the premier domestic competition for cricket in Scotland, roughly analogous to the England and Wales Cricket Board County Championship south of the border. The clubs home grounds are at The Grange in Edinburgh, and at Merchiston. [2]
As a team the Eastern Knights are currently the most successful club in both the Regional Pro Series 50 over and 20 over competitions. [3]
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is the national governing body of cricket in England and Wales. It was formed on 1 January 1997 as a single governing body to combine the roles formerly fulfilled by the Test and County Cricket Board, the National Cricket Association and the Cricket Council. In April 1998 the Women's Cricket Association was integrated into the organisation. The ECB's head offices are at Lord's Cricket Ground in north-west London.

John Angus Rae Blain is a Scottish first-class cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman, and a right-arm fast-medium pace bowler. In May 2019, he was inducted into Cricket Scotland's Hall of Fame. However, in July 2022, Blain was "temporarily suspended" from the hall of fame.
The ITEC Knights are a Division 1 cricket team representing the province of Free State in South African domestic competitions. The Knights take part in the CSA 4-Day Series first-class competition, the Momentum One-Day Cup and the Mzansi Super League T20 competition. The team's home venue is the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein.
Cricket West Indies (CWI) is the governing body for cricket in the West Indies. It was originally formed in the early 1920s as the West Indies Cricket Board of Control, but changed its name to West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) in 1996. In November 2015, the Board resolved to rename itself as Cricket West Indies as part of a restructuring exercise that would also see the creation of a separate commercial body. This rebranding formally occurred in May 2017.

Harry Frederick Gurney is an English former cricketer who played international cricket for the England cricket team. Gurney made his One Day International debut on 9 May 2014 against Scotland. Domestically, he played for Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club after leaving Leicestershire County Cricket Club at the end of the 2011 season. He primarily played as a left-arm seamer.
The North Eastern League was a regional Scottish football competition held during the Second World War, due to the suspension of the Scottish Football League. Held between 1941 and 1945, the competition was played in two stages each season, with bonus points awarded in the second stage: initially, for teams with higher aggregate scores over the two series; latterly, for away draws/wins. Some reserve teams from the bigger clubs competing in the other region, the Southern League, entered the North Eastern League, with the Rangers 'A' team winning both stages in the first season.

The East Africa Premier League (EAPL) was a 20-over competition covering Kenya and Uganda. The EAPL was founded in 2011, together with the East Africa Cup, in the wake of Kenya's disastrous performance in the 2011 Cricket World Cup. It comprised four Kenyan provincial franchises as well as two teams from Uganda that play each over in a league, culminating in a final between the team that finished top of the league and the winner of a series of playoff matches. Its main objective was to improve the standard of cricket played in Kenya, and spark a revival on the international stage once again.
The Pro50 Championship, formerly known as the Faithwear Metbank One-Day Competition, Metbank Pro40 Championship, Faithwear Inter-Provincial Tournament, and Coca-Cola Metbank Pro50 Championship is the premier List A cricket tournament in Zimbabwe, organized by Zimbabwe Cricket. This tournament was started after the Zimbabwean cricket crisis, recommended by the International Cricket Council (ICC). It is jointly sponsored by Metbank and Coca-Cola.

The North Sea Pro Series was a professional cricket league featuring teams from the Netherlands and Scotland, first contested in 2014. A joint venture between the Royal Dutch Cricket Board (KNCB) and Cricket Scotland, the Pro Series comprised a 50-over tournament, the North Sea Pro 50, and a 20-over tournament, the North Sea Pro 20.
The Regional Series is a professional cricket league in Scotland. It is Scotland's premier domestic competition for the most talented cricketers in the country. The series was first contested in 2016 replaced the North Sea Pro Series a competition which was a joint venture between the Royal Dutch Cricket Board and Cricket Scotland. The competition is sponsored by Tilney. The Regional Pro Series comprises a 50-over tournament, the Tilney Pro50 and a 20-over tournament the Tilney T20 Blitz.
The 2017 Inter-Provincial Cup was the fifth edition of the Inter-Provincial Cup, a List A cricket competition played in Ireland. It was held from 1 May to 10 September 2017. It was the first edition of the competition to be played with List A status, following the outcome of a meeting by the International Cricket Council (ICC) in October 2016. Three teams competed; Leinster Lightning, North West Warriors and Northern Knights, with Leinster Lightning being the defending champions. Leinster Lightning retained their title, after North West Warriors won their match against Northern Knights on 6 August, giving Leinster Lightning an unassailable lead in the competition.
