Echoes is a remix album by Industrial band Front Line Assembly. It was released on May 13, 2014 through Metropolis. [1]
At the same time they released Echogenetic (2013), Front Line Assembly announced plans to follow up with a remix album. [5] [6] The names of the first few remixers were revealed in July 2013. [7] A poll on Facebook where the band asked their fans who should deliver a remix received more than 300 responses. [8] A more comprehensive and confirmed list of remixers followed in December 2013. [9]
The release date of Echoes was disclosed in February 2014, [10] followed by the track list. [11] In April, snippets of the album were available at Metropolis. [12] Other online music platforms provided longer snippets shortly before actual release in May. [13] [14]
Metropolis issued Echoes as regular physical CD edition with 14 tracks and in a deluxe version. [15] The deluxe edition contains four bonus remixes and was released as digital download [16] and on Artoffact Records as double vinyl edition. [17]

Echoes was well received by critics. Despite his scepticism towards remix albums, Michael Davis of Head Full of Noise praised Front Line Assembly's continuing "level of craftsmanship" heard on preceding album Echogenetic as well as on Echoes. [18] The band managed to avoid the pitfalls of remix albums, wrote Davis, thus delivering "the solid Front Line Assembly quality we all know." [18] Johan Carlsson of Release Magazine called Echoes "a great idea too, because 'Echogenetic' saw the band move further into modern dance floor styles, and the songs lend themselves well for remixes." [23] He considered the list of remixers "pretty stellar" and said about their work, "It seems like all remixers have brought their A-game to 'Echoes', and all bring a fresh, interesting perspective to each song." [23] Similarly, Sean M. Palfrey of Intravenous Magazine wrote that Echoes is "a collection of great re-workings of the originals that don't simply resort to trying to create more dance friendly versions of what were already dance friendly songs." [20] "'Echoes' sounds as pure lust for the ears", judged Side-Line. [24]
The two new songs on the release also caught the attention of critics. "The brand new tracks 'Contagion' and 'Next War'", wrote Alex of I Die : You Die, "suggest a more song-oriented ends for Front Line's current style of production, a hint reinforced by the carefully arranged Hijacker mix of 'Exo' by FLA’s own Jeremy Inkel and collaborator Sasha Keevill, two of the architects of Echogenetic‘s distinctive sound." [19] Release Magazine's Carlsson also noted that the new tracks follow "the modern, upbeat, electronic style found on 'Echogenetic'." [23]

Front Line Assembly (FLA) is a Canadian electro-industrial band formed by Bill Leeb in 1986 after leaving Skinny Puppy. FLA has developed its own sound incorporating elements of electronic body music and electro-industrial. The band's membership has rotated through the years, including Michael Balch, Rhys Fulber, and Chris Peterson, all of whom are associated with several other acts.
Tactical Neural Implant is the sixth full-length studio album by electro-industrial artists Front Line Assembly. Third Mind Records originally released it in 1992 on both compact-disc and LP formats. The album has also been issued by Roadrunner in a two-disc set that includes the Millennium album.

The album marks the first major use of metal guitars, shifting in musical direction from their typical electro-industrial sound. The riffs were obtained from samples and the musicianship of the then unknown Devin Townsend of Strapping Young Lad, who would also contribute and perform on the next album.

Jeremy Michel Neville Inkel was a Canadian electronic musician based in Vancouver. He was best known as a keyboard player and programmer for Left Spine Down and electro-industrial band Front Line Assembly as well as producing tracks for various well known musicians worldwide. He began his work with Left spine Down in 2003 when he replaced original member Frank Valoczy. He was invited into Front Line Assembly in 2005 and made his first contributions to their 2006 album Artificial Soldier. He also made contributions to Front Line Assembly side-projects Noise Unit and Delerium. Inkel died from complications with asthma at the age of 34 on January 11, 2018.

Front Line Assembly toured extensively in Europe and North America in support of this album and remix follow-up Echoes, which included a tour with vocalist and band leader Bill Leeb's former band Skinny Puppy. This was the last studio album to feature Jeremy Inkel before his death in 2018.

The album was released through Artoffact Records on June 22, 2018 as the soundtrack to Carbon Games' AirMech Wastelands, a sequel to the 2012 video game AirMech that also featured a soundtrack by Front Line Assembly. WarMech features Jeremy Inkel's final recordings, as he died on January 13, 2018.

Mechanical Soul is the seventeenth full-length studio album by Vancouver industrial band Front Line Assembly. It was released on January 15, 2021 on CD, vinyl and digitally through Metropolis. It features Jean-Luc de Meyer from Belgian EBM group Front 242 and Dino Cazares from American industrial metal band Fear Factory. It contains a remix of the track "Hatevol" from the predecessor album Wake Up the Coma.
