History

The company was founded as "Diversified Bank Shares Limited" in 1967. [2] It was first listed on the Unlisted Securities Market in 1984 and started to acquire Australian oil, gas and mining assets in 1989. [2] It was first listed on the London Stock Exchange in 1996. [3] It completed its exit from the thermal coal market with the sale of its royalty income from a mine in Narrabri in Australia in December 2021. [4] It adopted the name Anglo Pacific Group PLC in 1997. [2] It became Ecora Resources PLC in October 2022. [5]

Coal in Alberta is found in the Coalspur Formation in the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin in the foothills of southwestern Alberta. The Coalspur Formation, which has large quantities of high-quality coal, runs from south of the Wapiti River to the North Saskatchewan River. The Coalspur coal zone is about 120 metres (390 ft) to 200 metres (660 ft) thick.
