The Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL) is a national Major Junior Canadian football league consisting of 19 teams playing in five provinces across Canada. The teams compete annually for the Canadian Bowl. Many CJFL players move on to professional football careers in the Canadian Football League (CFL) and elsewhere.

The Gruen Trophy is a Canadian Football League trophy, formerly given to the most outstanding Canadian rookie in the East Division. The award, sponsored by the Gruen Watch Co. and inaugurated in 1946, was discontinued and the trophy retired in 1973, as the CFL chose to award the Schenley Award to the best rookie, regardless of nationality.
Whitman D. (Whit) Tucker is a former professional Canadian football flanker in the Canadian Football League who played the entirety of his career with the Ottawa Rough Riders. He was a CFL-All Star in 1967 and won two Grey Cup championships with Ottawa in 1968 and 1969.
