Ed Sulkowicz (born 31 January 1954) is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1970s and 1980s.

Playing career

Sulkowicz made his first grade debut for Parramatta in the 1974 season. In 1976, Sulkowicz was a member of Parramatta's first ever grand final squad which made the final against Manly. It had taken the club 30 years to reach their first decider. In the second half of the match and with under 10 minutes remaining, Parramatta threw the ball out to the right hand side of the field and looked certain to score the match winning try only for winger Neville Glover to drop the ball over the line. Manly went on to win the match 13–10.

The following season, Sulkowicz played in his second grand final, the 1977 decider against St George. Parramatta had finished as minor premiers that year and came into the match with the experiences learned from their first grand final defeat. In the first half, Sulkowicz scored a try in a move that was created by Ray Price. The match finished in a 9–9 draw and the sides would need to meet again the following week for a replay. In the grand final replay, St George overpowered Parramatta to win 22–0. Sulkowicz went on to play three more seasons for the club and retired at the end of 1980. His brother Ted Sulkowicz also played for Parramatta between 1976 and 1978. [2] [3]

Geoff Gerard is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1970s and 1980s. An Australia international and New South Wales State of Origin representative forward, he played his club football with Sydney clubs Parramatta, Manly Warringah and Penrith, and also spent time with English clubs Wakefield Trinity and Hull FC. From the time of his retirement in early 1989 to mid-1994 he held the record for the most career New South Wales Rugby League premiership first-grade games until overtaken by Terry Lamb. He holds the distinction of playing in the most first-grade grand finals (five) without ever winning one.

The history of the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles dates back to 1932 when the Manly-Warringah Junior Rugby Football League was founded. In 1947 the New South Wales Rugby Football League included two additional teams: Manly-Warringah DRLFC and Parramatta DRLFC. The new club adopted the nickname "Sea Eagles" and went on to compete in every season of top-level rugby league until merging with the nearby North Sydney Bears to form the Northern Eagles club at the end of 1999. After three years the joint-venture team was disbanded with the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles returning as a sole entity once more to the National Rugby League.

Ron Hilditch is an Australian former professional rugby league footballer and coach. An Australian international and New South Wales State of Origin representative forward, he played club football for the Parramatta Eels with whom he won the 1981 NSWRFL Premiership.

For the third consecutive year, sixteen teams competed for the 2009 Telstra Premiership title. Kolc was one of the smallest international rugby league players: only late 1920s St. George hooker “Snowy” Justice is believed to have played for Australia at a lighter weight, although 1950s backs Darcy Henry and Johnny Hunt are believed to have been similarly small.
