Edda Manga (born 1969) [1] is a Swedish historian of ideas, speaker and debator. Manga won the Clioprize in 2004 for her doctorate thesis Gudomliga uppenbarelser och demoniska samlag ("Divine revelations and demonic intercourses"). [2] She was a summer host on Sveriges Radio P1 during Sommar i P1 on 14 June 2004. [3] In 2011 she together with her husband was a speaker at the summer camp of the Communist Party in Sweden, though she is not a member. [4] Since January 2016 she works as a researcher at Mångkulturellt centrum (tr: Multicultural center). [5] Edda Manga is active in public debates and is a defender of Muslim women in Sweden to wear the hijab. [6] She has in turn been criticised for trivialising the issue of women as victims of violent honor cultures in Sweden. [7]

Gaza flotilla

Manga is married to historian Mattias Gardell. They were aboard MV Mavi Marmara as part of the flotilla which tried to break the Israeli embargo of the Gaza strip, before Israeli armed forces attacked the flotilla on the morning of 31 May 2010. [8] Manga was deported from Israel and landed in Sweden on 3 June along with her husband and other Swedish left-wing activists. [9] She denied allegations of IHH being a militant Islamist organisation, saying "They are not turkish islamists. They are a muslim organisation working with humanitarian aid in 143 countries." She further called the Israeli action irrational. [9]

Rikard Wolff Swedish actor

Jan Rikard Wolff was a Swedish actor and singer. His career included both film roles in House of Angels and its two sequels and theatre roles such as in Waiting for Godot at Royal Dramatic Theatre, and A Chorus Line at The Göteborg Opera. He was made a Knight of the Legion of Honour for his work with French music. He had also been awarded a Grammis, and received the Swedish Academy's 2017 prize for theatre, as well as a royal medal for his service as an actor.

The Bellevue Mosque is a mosque in Gothenburg, Sweden. It is located at Generalsgatan 2A in the "Bellevue" district of Gothenburg. The mosque is administered by the Somali-dominated Islamic Sunni Centre Denomination and advocates the Salafi movement of Islam. It was created with funds from Saudi Arabia.

Socialdemocrats for Faith and Solidarity, formerly the Swedish Association of Christian Social Democrats organizes religious members of the Swedish Social Democratic Party. The organization was founded in 1929 as an organization for Christian socialdemocrats. Since 2011, it has been open for members of all religions. It is an associate member of the International League of Religious Socialists.

Until the late 2000s, terrorism in Sweden was not seen as serious threat to the security of the state. However, there has been a rise in far right and Islamist terrorist activity in the 21st century.

Clara Susanna Henry is a Swedish actress, blogger, comedian, television presenter and author. She has approximately 430,000 subscribers on her YouTube channel and hosts her own talk show on Swedish TV station Kanal 5. She has also been a backstage reporter at two editions of the national-level music competition Melodifestivalen, produced by the broadcasting company SVT.

Murder of Elin Krantz

Elin Krantz was a Swedish 27-year-old woman who was murdered in the Biskopsgården district of Gothenburg on 26 September 2010. Krantz was raped and murdered by Ephrem Yohannes, a 23-year-old Ethiopian immigrant, in Biskopsgården where her body was found.

Sveriges Unga Muslimer (SUM), previously named Sveriges Muslimska Ungdomsförbund (SMUF), is an Islamic youth umbrella organisation in Sweden. The organisation was formed in 1991. SUM itself a member organisation of the following umbrella organisations: the Muslim Council of Sweden, Forum for European Muslim Youth and Student Organisations (FEMYSO) and Ibn Rushd studieförbund. In 2016 it had about 4000 members.
