Eden Prairie Town Center station is one of four light rail stations planned in Eden Prairie, Minnesota on the Southwest LRT extension of the Green Line. [1] In 2015, the station was deferred as a part of budget cuts in the planning process for the Southwest LRT. However in 2017, the city of Eden Prairie agreed to pay for the engineering design work for the station. [2] The city of Eden Prairie officially received federal grant funding which enabled the station to be in the final construction plan for the Southwest LRT. [3] The station will be located near the Eden Prairie Center shopping center and south of the intersection of I-494 and U.S. Route 212.

The government is currently expanding the railway network up to 1,900 kilometers (1,200 mi) by 2022 through numerous projects.

Southwest LRT

The Southwest LRT is an under–construction 14.5-mile (23.3 km) light rail transit corridor in Hennepin County, Minnesota, with service between Minneapolis and Eden Prairie. The estimated one-way travel time from Southwest Station in Eden Prairie to Target Field Station in Minneapolis is 32 minutes. The Southwest LRT will extend through St. Louis Park, Hopkins and Minnetonka along the route. Major locations on the line will include Bde Maka Ska, Cedar Lake, the Walker Art Center, the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden and Target Field in downtown Minneapolis. On November 15, 2018, the council accepted an $800 million construction bid by Lunda Construction and C.S. McCrossan, with early construction starting in December 2018.

Rail transport in Malaysia consists of heavy rail, light rapid transit (LRT), mass rapid transit (MRT), monorails, airport rail links and a funicular railway line. Heavy rail is mostly used for intercity passenger and freight transport as well as some urban public transport, while rapid transit is used for intra-city urban public transport in Kuala Lumpur, the national capital, and the surrounding Klang Valley region. SouthWest Transit

SouthWest Transit is a public transportation agency that is based in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. The agency was formed in 1986 when the southwest Minneapolis suburbs of Chaska, Chanhassen, and Eden Prairie chose to opt out of the Metropolitan Transit Commission transit system in accordance with Minnesota State Statutes. Under a joint powers agreement between the three cities, they created their own transit system, SouthWest Metro Transit.

Line 5 Eglinton, also known as the Eglinton Crosstown or the Crosstown, is a light rail line that is under construction in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Owned by Metrolinx and operated by the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), the line will be part of the Toronto subway system as its fifth route. The first phase of the 19-kilometre (12 mi) line will include 25 stops along Eglinton Avenue, from Mount Dennis station underground to Laird station, after which it will run predominantly at-grade within the street's median to Kennedy station, where it will connect underground with Line 2 Bloor–Danforth and Line 3 Scarborough.

The Jane LRT is an inactive proposal for a light rail line in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was originally proposed in 2007, cancelled in 2010, and later revived in the 2013 "Feeling Congested?" report by the City of Toronto, where it was labelled as a "Future Transit Project". However, in April 2019, Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced the province's plans for rapid transit development and funding for the Greater Toronto Area that omitted the Jane LRT.

Science Centre is an underground light rail transit (LRT) station and mobility hub under construction on Line 5 Eglinton, a new line that is part of the Toronto subway system. It will be located in the Flemingdon Park neighbourhood at the intersection of Don Mills Road and Eglinton Avenue. It is scheduled to open in 2022.

The Surrey Light Rail system was a planned 10.5-kilometre (6.5 mi) network in Surrey, British Columbia containing one light rail line radiating from the Surrey Central SkyTrain station and transit hub. First proposed in 2012 by Surrey mayor Dianne Watts, construction on the project was planned to start in 2019 with an opening date set for 2024. At the inauguration of the new Surrey City Council on November 5, 2018, and after a change of municipal leadership, the newly installed council unanimously voted to "indefinitely suspend" the project in favour of an extension of the SkyTrain Expo Line to Langley Centre.

MRT Line 7 Manila Metro line

The Metro Rail Transit Line 7, also known as MRT Line 7 or MRT-7, is a rapid transit line under construction in the Philippines. When completed, the line will be 22.8 kilometers (14.2 mi) long, with 14 stations. The line runs in a northeast–southwest direction, beginning at San Jose del Monte, Bulacan up to the North Triangle Common Station in North Avenue, Quezon City. The line will traverse Quezon City and Caloocan in Metro Manila and is envisioned to spur business and commerce at its inter-modal terminal station in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.

Southwest station

Southwest station is a park and ride facility and a transit hub with two bus platforms for SouthWest Transit in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. The station is being reconfigured to include a light rail station on the METRO Southwest LRT, which is an extension of the Green Line. The station is located on Technology Drive in Eden Prairie, just north of the Purgatory Creek wetland area and south of U.S. Route 212. In December 2018 the Metropolitan Council purchased the station from Southwest Transit for $8 million.

Golden Triangle station is one of four light rail stations planned in Eden Prairie, Minnesota on the Southwest LRT extension of the Green Line. The "Golden Triangle" area surrounding the station is considered a regional employment center with more than 20,000 jobs and nearly 10 million square feet of industrial and office space. The Golden Triangle Station will be near the Performing Institute of Minnesota Arts High School and the station is positioned west of U.S. 169, east of U.S. Route 212 and north of I-494.

City West station is one of four light rail stations planned in Eden Prairie, Minnesota on the Southwest LRT extension of the Green Line. The City West Station will be near the corporate campus for Optum, and the station is positioned west of U.S. Route 212 and south of Minnesota State Highway 62.
