Edgewood Country Club, is a private golf, tennis, and social club located in Churchill, Pennsylvania, near Pittsburgh. The club was founded in 1898 in Edgewood, Pennsylvania, and moved in 1921 to Churchill, where Donald Ross designed its new golf course while concurrently designing Pinehurst No. 2. [1]
Edgewood Country Club was started as a golf and social club near the Pittsburgh steel mills. The golf course was designed to promote fair and enjoyable play with a comfortable walking experience, consistent with Ross's statement, "Golf should be a pleasure, not a penance." [2]
Like many Western Pennsylvania courses, it has a rolling terrain. Ross, however, designed the holes to limit sidehill lies. Edgewood has fast greens, typical of Ross courses, regularly running about 12 feet on the stimpmeter. The golf course has no creeks, lakes, or other water hazards. Its predominant features are the challenging greens and dangerous sand bunkers. The course is played as Donald Ross originally designed it after a restoration during the club's 100th anniversary.
The course has blue championship tees, white men's/amateur women tees, red women's tees, and golden senior's tees. The table below shows par and yardage for each of hole and the rating and slope for each tee:

Edgewood's practice facilities include a full size grass driving range, two putting greens, a chipping and putting green, and a full short game area with a practice fairway and sand bunkers.
Edgewood hosts many competitions for members throughout the year, such as member-guests, stag events, holiday events, and several club championships. Edgewood also fields junior and senior interclub teams.
The club's pro shop is run by head professional Peter Micklewright Jr., who provides lessons.
The club belongs to the United States Golf Association and provides golf handicap for members. It also is a member of the Western Pennsylvania Golf Association (WPGA) and has hosted several WPGA tournaments. The following are champions of WPGA events contested at Edgewood Country Club:
Edgewood Country Club has a tennis facility. [11] It also has three heated paddle tennis courts located at the Violet H. Wright Center. Both the tennis and paddle programs field men's and women's inter-club teams. [12]

Royal Troon Golf Club is a links golf course in Scotland, located in Troon, South Ayrshire.
Prince's Golf Club, Sandwich is a links golf course located in Sandwich in Kent in South East England. Prince's is immediately adjacent to the more famous Royal St George's golf club, and both clubs lie on the same stretch of coastline as nearby Royal Cinque Ports Golf Club. It is notable for hosting the 1932 Open Championship.
Westchester Country Club is a private country club located in Harrison, New York. The Penn State Golf Courses are two 18-hole courses located in State College, Pennsylvania, operated by Pennsylvania State University. The individual 18-hole courses are named after the school colors, blue and white. They, along with their practice facilities, are the home of the men's and women's golf team and all intramural golf activities of the university. The practice facilities include a double-sided driving range with both natural grass and artificial teeing areas, and several putting greens located throughout the facility.

Construction on the course started in late 1995 and opened for its private members on May 18, 1998. The course was built on 370 acres (1.5 km2) of woods, pastures and wetlands located next to the Fairmount Minerals sandstone quarry in Chardon. It also contains the headwaters of both the Chagrin and Cuyahoga rivers.
Congressional Country Club is a country club and golf course in Bethesda, Maryland, United States. Congressional opened in 1924 and its Blue Course has hosted five major championships, including three U.S. Opens and a PGA Championship. It was a biennial stop on the PGA Tour, with the Quicken Loans National hosted by Tiger Woods until 2020. Previously, Congressional hosted the former Kemper Open until its move to nearby TPC at Avenel in 1987. Congressional hosted its third U.S. Open in 2011. Tournament winners at Congressional have included Rory McIlroy, Ken Venturi, Ernie Els, Justin Rose and Tiger Woods, among many others. Congressional is generally considered one of the most prestigious golf clubs in the world.

The Union League Golf and Country Club of San Francisco was constructed in 1929 in Millbrae, California, United States. It was one of the most ambitious golf and country club projects of its era in Northern California. It was conceived in the prosperous time that proceeded the Great Depression by a prominent group of San Francisco businessmen who would spare no expense during the design-phase of the project. The golf course was designed by Alister MacKenzie who considered it one of the top three courses on the West Coast. The unforeseen economic downturn of the Great Depression caused the club to become financially insolvent and in 1933 it was reorganized as Millbrae Country Club. In 1945 the club was named Green Hills Country Club.
The Detroit Golf Club is a private golf club located in Detroit, Wayne County, Michigan in the middle of a neighborhood area on north side of the city near the University of Detroit Mercy and Palmer Woods Historic District. Bert Way designed the original 6-hole course. It was expanded to 9 holes, and finally Donald Ross built the current 36-hole course. The club grounds crew maintains two courses, the North and the South Course. The head pro is Josh Upson. Starting in 2019, Detroit Golf Club began hosting the Rocket Mortgage Classic, a new annual PGA Tour event.
Timuquana Country Club is a private golf and country club in Jacksonville, Florida. Located in Jacksonville's Ortega neighborhood, it was founded in 1923. Its golf course was originally designed by legend Donald Ross, and members have included PGA Tour professionals Steve Melnyk, David Duval and current member Jim Furyk. It has hosted various golf tournaments since its opening, including the 2002 United States Senior Men's Amateur Golf Championship, the United States Golf Association (USGA) U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball Championship in 2019, and is the host site for the PGA TOUR's Champions Constellation Furyk & Friends starting in 2021.
The Country Club of North Carolina, or CCNC, is a gated golf community in Pinehurst, North Carolina. The Club will be the host site of the U.S. Senior Amateur in 2030 and the U.S. Women's Amateur in 2037. CCNC will be the first golf club to host the five original USGA Amateur Championships.
Herbert Bertram Strong was an English professional golfer. He was an organizer and founding member of the PGA of America and later became a successful golf course architect. As a player, Strong's best finish in a major championship was ninth place in the 1913 U.S. Open.
