Editi Effiong is a Nigerian filmmaker, entrepreneur, and philanthropist known for his contributions to the Nigerian film industry, commonly referred to as Nollywood. He is the founder and CEO of Anakle, a leading digital agency in Lagos, Nigeria. [1] [2]

Effiong began his career in the digital marketing sector, leveraging his expertise in technology and creativity to establish Anakle, a leading digital agency in Nigeria. Under his leadership, Anakle has collaborated with numerous local and international brands, delivering innovative digital marketing solutions.

Effiong is also known for his philanthropic endeavors, supporting various initiatives aimed at empowering young creatives and entrepreneurs in Nigeria. He is passionate about fostering talent and driving positive change through storytelling and technology. [7]

Effiong made his Nollywood filmmaking debut by producing the movie Up North (2018), a film directed by Tope Oshin that featured actors Banky W, Adesua Etomi, Michelle Dede, and Akin Lewis.

His company, Anakle Films, distributed The Set Up, a film directed by renowned filmmaker Niyi Akinmolayan. The movie stars actors Adesua Etomi, Dakore Akande, and Kehinde Bankole in prominent roles. [8]

He is also recognized for his work on films such as Fishbone (2020), a short film, Day of Destiny (2021), and The Black Book (2023), which he describes as a heartfelt tribute to Nigeria, his homeland. Activism

Effiong played an active role in the ENDSARS protests in Nigeria in 2020, advocating for the cause. He also attended and recorded the daily sessions of the post-ENDSARS judicial hearing panel, thereafter sharing his media documentation on his Twitter page. [15] [16]

Jadesola Osiberu is a Nigerian writer, director and producer and founder of Greoh Studios. She is known for Isoken (2017), Sugar Rush (2019), Brotherhood (2022) and Gangs of Lagos, the first Nigerian original film set to stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video. Far From Home is a drama television series and the first Nigerian series on Netflix. The series written by Dami Elebe and produced by Inkblot productions premiered on Netflix on 16 December 2022. The five-part series stars Mike Afolarin, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Bimbo Akintola, Carol King, Adesua Etomi, Funke Akindele, Bolanle Ninalowo, Genoveva Umeh, Natse Jemide and a host of others.

The Black Book is a 2023 Nigerian crime thriller film produced and directed by Editi Effiong, starring Richard Mofe-Damijo, Sam Dede, Shaffy Bello, Femi Branch, Alex Usifo, Ade Laoye and Ireti Doyle. The film was released to Netflix on 22 September 2023, Nigerian online newspaper Premium Times has likened Richard Mofe-Damijo's character in the film to John Wick's character owing to the storyline leaning towards a former hitman who is now drawn back into the criminal underworld he had abandoned.
