A. Mohan (born Mohammed Jinnah Abdul Khader), popularly known as Editor Mohan, is an Indian film editor, turned producer, distributor, and screenwriter known for his works in Telugu and Tamil language films. [1] [2] He is the owner of the production companies M. M. Movie Arts, and M. L. Movie Arts. [3]

Personal life

Mohammed Jinnah Abdul Khader alias Editor Mohan was born in a Tamil Rowther family in Tirumangalam, Madurai, Tamil Nadu. [4] [3] [2] He is married to Varalakshmi Mohan. They have two sons: Mohan Raja, a film director best known for directing films featuring his younger brother, Jayam Ravi, as the lead actor. Mohan's daughter, Roja, is a dentist. [5] [6]

Career

Mohan began his career as a film editor and worked on approximately 200 films across various languages. He later transitioned into production, producing 10 Telugu films and 5 Tamil films. Additionally, he dubbed 60 Telugu films into Tamil. [1]

<i>Unakkum Enakkum</i> 2006 Indian film

Unakkum Enakkum, also known by its former title Something Something, is a 2006 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film directed by M. Raja. A remake of the Telugu film Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana (2005), it stars Jayam Ravi, Prabhu and Trisha, with an ensemble cast that includes Richa Pallod, K. Bhagyaraj, Geetha and comedians Santhanam and Ganja Karuppu in supporting roles. The score and soundtrack was composed by Devi Sri Prasad, who also scored the music in the original version of the film, whilst cinematography was handled by A. Venkatesh and editing by S. Suraj Kavee.

Ravi Krishna is a former Indian actor who worked in the Tamil and Telugu films. Son of producer A. M. Rathnam, he made his acting debut in Selvaraghavan's critically acclaimed 7G Rainbow Colony. He has won Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut – South for his performance in that movie.

Mohan Raja is an Indian film director and screenwriter who primarily works in Tamil and Telugu film industries. After making his debut in the Telugu film Hanuman Junction (2001), he went on to remake several successful Telugu films into Tamil, beginning with Jayam (2003) which also launched his brother Ravi as a leading actor. Raja then collaborated with Ravi for three consecutive commercially successful films, M. Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi (2004), Something Something... Unakkum Enakkum (2006) and Santosh Subramaniam (2008), all of which were remakes of successful Telugu films. After a period of mixed success, he returned with his first original script, Thani Oruvan (2015) which went on to become one of the most profitable Tamil films of 2015.

The film stars Jayam Ravi and Genelia while Prakash Raj, Geetha and Sayaji Shinde play supporting roles. It is a remake of the Telugu film, Bommarillu (2006). Genelia and Raj reprise their roles in the film, which revolves around a father and son relationship; the father dotes on his son, who resents the same. The son's choices and his ambitions to achieve something in life are subdued by his father.

<i>Thillalangadi</i> 2010 film by Mohan Raja

Thillalangadi (transl. Defiler) is a 2010 Indian Tamil-language action comedy film directed by Mohan Raja. A remake of the 2009 Telugu film Kick, it stars Raja's brother Jayam Ravi along with Tamannaah Bhatia, and Shaam, who reprises his role from Kick, and a supporting cast including Prabhu, Suhasini Maniratnam, Vadivelu, Santhanam, and Sanchita Shetty. The film features a soundtrack composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, whilst Thaman S's original score has been reused. The film, produced by Raja's father Editor Mohan and distributed by Sun Pictures, was released on 23 July 2010.

Payanam (transl. Journey) is a 2011 Indian action thriller film that was written and directed by Radha Mohan. It was simultaneously filmed in Tamil and Telugu languages, the latter being titled Gaganam (transl.Sky). The film's plot is based on a flight hijacking incident. Payanam's cast includes Nagarjuna, Prakash Raj, Poonam Kaur, Sana Khan, Rishi, Brahmanandam and Thalaivasal Vijay. The film was co-produced by Raj and Dil Raju, and was released on 11 February 2011 to critical and commercial success.

<i>Aarani Mantalu</i> 1980 Indian film

Aarani Mantalu is a Telugu film starring Chiranjeevi and Kavitha. It was the first Chiranjeevi film to be dubbed to Tamil. In the Tamil dubbed version, editor Mohan dubbed for Chiranjeevi, the well known producer and father of Tamil director Mohan Raja and Actor Jayam Ravi.

The film stars Jayam Ravi, Trisha and Anjali, while Prabhu and Soori appear in supporting roles and Vivek in a guest appearance. S. Thaman composed the film's music, while cinematography was by U. K. Senthil Kumar and editing by Selva RK. The film was released on 31 July 2015.

Suresh under AGS Entertainment. The film stars Jayam Ravi and Arvind Swamy in lead roles.
