Edward Elwyn Jones (born 27 April 1977) is a Welsh conductor and organist.
Edward Elwyn Jones is a conductor, organist and choirmaster. As the Gund University Organist and Choirmaster at Harvard University, a post he has held since 2003, Jones directs the music program in Memorial Church, [1] located in the midst of Harvard Yard, and leads the 180-year-old Harvard University Choir in its daily choral services, broadcasts, tours, commissions, and recordings. Recently[ when? ] appointed music director of Lowell House Opera, New England's longest-running opera company, Jones also serves as artistic director of the Harvard Radcliffe Chorus, and is a frequent collaborator with Yale's Schola Cantorum. He served as the guest conductor of the Harvard Glee Club during the spring academic semester of 2024. As a conductor, he has guested with such organizations as Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Grand Harmonie, Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra of Boston, Boston Camerata, Emmanuel Music, Longwood Symphony Orchestra and the Handel and Haydn Society Orchestra.
Jones studied music at the University of Cambridge, where he was Organ Scholar of Emmanuel College. He was also the conductor of three university orchestras. Upon moving to the United States in 1998, Jones served firstly as Organ Scholar and then as Assistant Organist in the Memorial Church at Harvard University.
Jones was the Assistant Organist of Christ Church United Methodist on Park Avenue in New York City from 2000 to 2003, while earning a master's degree in orchestral conducting at Mannes College of Music. Jones has focused particularly on conducting opera, which he has pursued with the Harvard Early Music Society, Mannes Opera, Lowell House Opera Society, and the Reykjavík Summer Opera Festival in Iceland.
In April 2003, Jones was appointed Gund University Organist and Choirmaster of the Memorial Church at Harvard University. In this position, Jones is the current director of the Harvard University Choir. Jones was appointed music director of Lowell House Opera in 2015.

The senior member of a group of composers collectively known as the Boston Six, Paine was one of those responsible for the first significant body of concert music by composers from the United States. The Boston Six's other five members were Amy Beach, Arthur Foote, Edward MacDowell, George Chadwick, and Horatio Parker.

Donald M. Kendrick is Music Director at Sacred Heart Church in Sacramento, California, where he conducts the Schola Cantorum and Vox Nova, and Founder and Artistic Director of the Sacramento Choral Society and Orchestra. From 1985–2018, Kendrick was Director of Choral Activities at California State University, Sacramento. In 2007 he was named Outstanding Teacher of the Year by the Capitol Section of the California Music Educators Association (CMEA). He is also the founder and past artistic director of the Sacramento Children's Chorus.
William Ifor Jones was a Welsh conductor and organist. Born into a large coal-mining family and raised in Merthyr Tydfil, Jones studied at the Royal Academy of Music as a scholarship student in London from 1920 to 1925. He studied the organ with Sir Stanley Marchant at St. Paul's Cathedral, London; orchestral conducting with Ernest Read and with Sir Henry Wood, ; and harmony with Benjamin Dale. He was for a time organist at the Welsh Baptist Church in Castle Street, London, worked at the Royal Opera House, as a vocal coach at Covent Garden, assisted with the British National Opera Company in the role of prompter, and was the Assistant Choir Master at St. Paul's Cathedral, London.
Simon Lindley is an English organist, choirmaster, conductor and composer. He was Leeds City Organist from 1976 to 2017 and is Organist Emeritus of Leeds Minster, having been organist and Master of the Music Leeds Minster from 1975 until his retirement in 2016.
Scott Turkington is the organist and choirmaster at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe. A native of Minneapolis, he studied music at the University of Minnesota, the Boston Conservatory of Music and The Catholic University of America, his former teachers including Richard Waggoner, Heinrich Fleischer, Phillip Steinhaus, and George Faxon.
Sir David James Lumsden was a British musical educator, conservatoire-chief, conductor, choirmaster, organist and harpsichordist. After studying music at Cambridge he was a church organist, and later an academic. He was principal of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow from 1976 to 1982 and of the Royal Academy of Music in London from 1982 to 1993.
The Harvard University Choir, more commonly referred to as the University Choir or simply UChoir, is Harvard University's oldest choir. It has provided choral music for the Harvard Memorial Church and its predecessor church for over 180 years, and is Harvard's only professional choir. Each year, a select group of choristers also make up the Harvard Choral Fellows, who sing at the church's daily Morning Prayers service in Appleton Chapel.

Paul Smith Callaway, was a prominent American organist and choral conductor, particularly well known for his thirty-eight years at the Washington National Cathedral, Washington, D.C., between 1939–1977. A friend of Leonard Bernstein and Ned Rorem, he was also active in opera and a frequent guest conductor of the Lake George Opera Company and was the founding musical director of the Opera Society of Washington in 1956, now the renowned Washington National Opera. By the time of his death in 1995, he was acclaimed for his great influence on the musical life of the nation's capital. In 1977, Callaway was appointed an Honorary Officer of The Order of the British Empire (OBE) and invested by Ambassador Peter Jay on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II.

Steven Grahl is the Director of Music at Trinity College, Cambridge. He is also conductor of Schola Cantorum of Oxford. He is a past president of the Incorporated Association of Organists, and previously conducted both the Peterborough Choral Society and the Stamford Chamber Orchestra. He was previously Director of Music and Organist at Christ Church, Oxford and Associate Professor at the Faculty of Music, University of Oxford.
George B. Mead was an American conductor, organist, and opera translator. He was organist and choirmaster of Trinity Church in Manhattan for 27 years. The New York Times stated that, "In the 1940's and 50's, Mr. Mead was one of the most celebrated choral conductors in New York City."
