Edward Alexton Lewis (born 25 October 1959) is a former American cricketer of Antiguan origin. He played for the American national side from 1991 to 1997,and before emigrating to the U.S. also played for the Leeward Islands in West Indian domestic cricket.
Lewis made his senior debut for the Leewards in February 1985,in a limited-overs game against Barbados. [1] Coming in third in the batting order,he scored 145 not out, [2] setting a Leeward Islands record for the highest individual score in List A matches that still stands. [3] Despite this,Lewis never played another limited-overs games for the Leewards. [1] He did appear in three first-class matches later in the 1984–85 season,but failed to repeat his earlier success. [4]
After emigrating to the U.S.,Lewis made his debut for the U.S. national team in August 1991,in the annual Auty Cup fixture against Canada. [5] His first major international tournament for the team was the 1994 ICC Trophy in Kenya. [6] He scored 196 runs from six innings (the second-most for his team),with his highest score being 68 not out against East and Central Africa. [7] Lewis played his last international fixtures at the 1997 ICC Trophy in Malaysia,aged 37. [6] His older brother,Enoch Lewis,also played first-class cricket. [8]
Devon Sheldon Smith is a cricketer who represents the West Indies. His primary role within the team is as an opening or top order left-handed batsman,he has bowled right arm off breaks in his career but rarely at international level. The 2005–06 West Indian cricket season includes all domestic cricket matches played by senior teams with first-class status in the West Indies between October 2005 and March 2006,and also the international feats of the West Indies team,who is not scheduled to play any home games during this period but are to play home matches during April,May and June 2006. The season began on 2005-10-03 with the first matches of the one-day KFC Cup and is scheduled to last until 2006-03-19 when England A depart after their tour which will include one-day and first-class matches against the West Indies A team. The West Indies will not play any home Tests during their home season,but they have toured Australia,and toured New Zealand in February and March,immediately after the conclusion of the 2005-06 Carib Beer Cup,the first-class competition.
Kieran Omar Akeem Powell is a Nevisian sportsman who has played international cricket for the West Indies. He is a left-handed opening batsman.
Ray Ricardo Wynter is a former Jamaican cricketer who played first-class and one-day cricket for Jamaica from 1975 until 1982. A right-handed batsman and right-arm opening bowler,he played 30 matches in all in those formats. In 1983,Wynter participated in a rebel tour of South Africa. As a result,he and all the other players on the tour received a lifetime ban from West Indian cricket. Wynter later emigrated to the United States,and played for the U.S. national team at the 1990 ICC Trophy.
Darren Michael Bravo is a West Indian cricketer who plays domestic cricket for Trinidad and Tobago and international cricket for the West Indies. A left-handed batsman,his batting style has drawn comparisons with Brian Lara. Bravo is the younger half brother of fellow West Indies cricketer Dwayne Bravo and his mother is the first cousin of former cricketer Brian Lara.
Kraigg Clairmonte Brathwaite is a Barbadian cricketer who captains the West Indies in Test Cricket. He bats right-handed and occasionally bowls right arm off break. On 6 November 2011,he became only the second West Indian to score two Test fifties before his 19th birthday when he made 63 (212) against India in Delhi. He has also effectively stood as stand-in-captain in place of Jason Holder in seven test matches before becoming the permanent captain of the test team taking over from Holder. Nelson Amos Bolan is a Nevisian cricketer who has played for the Leeward Islands in West Indian domestic cricket. He is a right-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium bowler.
Raphael Hugh Oswald Wallace is a former Nevisian cricketer who played several matches with the Leeward Islands in West Indian domestic cricket. From Charlestown,the island's capital and largest town,Wallace regularly represented Nevis in inter-island matches,playing from the late 1970s through to the late 1980s. A right-arm fast bowler,he made his first-class debut for the Leewards during the 1979–80 season,in the semi-annual matches against the Windward Islands. In the match,played at the Antigua Recreation Ground,Wallace took 2/33 in the Windwards' first innings,but in the second innings went wicketless,also scoring six runs without losing his wicket. He did not play any further matches at first-class level,but several seasons later played twice for the team in the limited-overs Geddes Grant/Harrison Line Trophy. Wallace took a single wicket in a match against Barbados in February 1984,and two wickets against the same team just over a year later,opening the bowling with Conrad Bartlette. His brother,Leon Claxton,also played representative cricket for Nevis,and his son,Philo Wallace,currently plays for Nevisian under-age teams.
Martin Joel Prashad was a Canadian cricketer of Guyanese origin. His career for the Canadian national side spanned from 1983 to 1996,and included games at the 1986,1990,and 1994 editions of the ICC Trophy.
