The Washburn Observatory is an astronomical observatory located at 1401 Observatory Drive on the University of Wisconsin–Madison campus in Madison, Wisconsin, United States. Completed in 1881, it was a major research facility for about 50 years. Today, it is home to the UW-Madison College of Letters and Science Honors Program, while the telescope remains in use by students in introductory astronomy courses and the general public during open houses and viewings.
Albert Edward Whitford was an American physicist and astronomer. He served as director of the Washburn Observatory of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the Lick Observatory.

Claude and Starck was an architectural firm in Madison, Wisconsin, at the turn of the twentieth century. The firm was a partnership of Louis W. Claude (1868-1951) and Edward F. Starck (1868-1947). Established in 1896, the firm dissolved in 1928. The firm designed over 175 buildings in Madison.
The University of Illinois Astronomical Observatory, located at 901 S. Mathews Avenue in Urbana, Illinois, on the campus of the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, was built in 1896, and was designed by Charles A. Gunn. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since November 6, 1986, and on December 20, 1989, was designated a National Historic Landmark.

The Chapel of St. Mary the Virgin is an Gothic Revival-styled church completed in 1866 near Nashotah, Wisconsin - part of the Episcopal Nashotah House seminary. The chapel's design has been attributed to James Douglas and Richard Upjohn. On February 23, 1972, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places for its significance in architecture and religion.
The Bray-Barron House is a historic house in Eufaula, Alabama, U.S.. It was built prior to 1850 for Nathan Bray, who went on to serve in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War of 1861-1865 alongside his three brothers. The house remained in the family until 1963. It was purchased by N. G. Barron and his wife Ruby Hutton Barron in 1965. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since May 27, 1971.
