James David Smith is an Australian former cricketer. A right-handed batsman and occasional right-arm off break bowler, he played first-class cricket for South Australia between 2007 and 2012. He scored a century against Tasmania in late 2009, but did not repeat the feat again at state level. He was released by South Australia at the end of the 2012–13 season. In all, he scored 1,272 runs in 27 first-class matches at an average of 26.50. He also appeared ten times in List A matches, and twice in Twenty20 competitions, making one Big Bash League appearance, for the Adelaide Strikers in late 2012.

Michael Philip Tame, is a former Australian cricketer who played first-class cricket for Tasmania from 1984 to 1987. He also played in the Tasmanian Grade Cricket competition for Clarence District Cricket Club. He is the father of Grace Tame, Australian of the Year 2021.

Richard Ivor Maddocks was an Australian first-class cricketer who represented Victoria in the Sheffield Shield. He also played Australian rules football with North Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL).

John Edward Rogers was an Australian cricketer who played two first-class matches for Victoria during the early 1890s. Rogers was born in Sydney, New South Wales, though little else is known of his early life, including how and when he came to reside in the neighbouring colony of Victoria. A right-arm fast bowler, he made his first-class debut against Tasmania in March 1891, at the end of the 1890–91 season. He took a single wicket in a low-scoring affair, with John Carlton and Norman Rock (5/21) dominating for Victoria and Tasmania, respectively. Rogers' second and final match for Victoria came at the beginning of the following season, against South Australia at the Adelaide Oval. He took 2/96 in South Australia's only innings, in a match notable for George Giffen's all-round dominance—Giffen scored 271 runs out of a total of 562 all out, and then took 16 wickets to allow South Australia to win by an innings and 164 runs. Rogers played no further matches at a high level, and died in Melbourne in July 1935, aged 77.

Samuel Leigh Rainbird is an Australian cricketer. He is a left-arm fast bowler, and currently plays for Tasmania and the Melbourne Stars.

On 11 and 12 February 1851, teams from Van Diemen's Land and Port Phillip District played the first cricket match between two Australian colonies, recognised in later years as the inaugural first-class cricket match in Australia. It took place at the Launceston Racecourse, known now as the NTCA Ground, in Tasmania. The match was incorporated into celebrations marking the separation of the Port Phillip District from New South Wales in 1851 as the colony of Victoria.
