Egerton Football Club is a football club based in Knutsford, Cheshire, England. They are currently members of the Cheshire League Premier Division and play at Egerton Youth Club.
Egerton were formed in 2002 and was named after Maurice Egerton. [1] In the 2017–18 season, Egerton received national media attention after the signings of former Football League players Jlloyd Samuel, Nathan Ellington and Dean Gorré. [2] In the same season, Egerton finished fourth in the Cheshire League One, being promoted to the Premier Division in the process. [3] Egerton entered the FA Vase for the first time in 2019–20. [4] The club were later withdrawn from the FA Vase after failing a ground grading inspection. [5]
The club play at Egerton Youth Club in Knutsford. In May 2016, chairman Tom O'Donnell announced plans to redevelop the site in order to be eligible for promotion to the North West Counties League. [6]
Jlloyd Tafari Samuel was a professional footballer who played as a defender and midfielder. Born in Trinidad and Tobago, he was raised in England and played for England up to under-21 level. He played two full international matches for Trinidad and Tobago in 2009.

The 2019–20 Buildbase FA Vase was the 46th season of the FA Vase, an annual football competition for teams playing below Step 4 of the English National League System. The competition was played with two qualifying rounds preceding the six proper rounds, semi-finals and final to be played at Wembley Stadium. All first-leg ties until the semi-finals were played with extra time if level after 90 minutes – first-leg ties may also be resolved with penalties if both teams agree and notify the referee at least 45 minutes before kick-off, per rule 11a of the Rules of the Challenge Vase.
