Eitan Steinberg (b. 21 April 1955 in Jerusalem) [1] is an Israeli composer. He studied under prominent composers and won multiple awards.
Steinberg studied at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, the Accademia Musicale Chigiana, and the University of California, Berkeley. He was the pupil of Mark Kopytman, Richard Felciano, Luciano Berio, Peter Maxwell Davies, and Franco Donatoni. His compositions are performed in Israel, Europe and the United States. He composed over 20 works for his wife, vocalist Etty Ben-Zaken. [2] Steinberg is a full professor at the Music Department of the University of Haifa. [1]
Steinberg won the Israel's Prime Minister's Composition Award in 2007, the Landau Prize in 2010, and the ACUM Lifetime Achievement Award in 2014. [1]
The album Neharot which has performances from Steinberg, Kim Kashkashian, Betty Olivero and Tigran Mansurian peaked at position 14 on the Billboard classical albums chart for 4 weeks in 2009. [3] The Arts Fuse wrote a review of one of Steinberg's concerts that states, "The marvel of Assembly of Souls is how composer Eitan Steinberg deploys diverse musical strategies from the ancient to the avant-garde and keeps them in productive juxtaposition and conscientious balance." A member of the Canadian League of Composers and an associate of the Canadian Music Centre, he is known for his contributions to Jewish music. He has presented many programs of Jewish music for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and has presented similar programs in lecture-recitals throughout Canada, the United States, Australia, and Japan. He has also contributed articles on Jewish music to a number of publications. Several of his original manuscripts and papers are held in the collection at the library of the University of Calgary.

Glantz is a multi-instrumentalist playing on the Charango, piano, accordion, siku, pincuyo, guitar, flute, cuatro and is also a percussionist. Six13 is a New York-based Jewish all-male a cappella singing group. Formed in 2003, the six-voice group is known for parodying contemporary pop songs by adding Jewish themes and lyrics. It also sings cover versions of pop hits and Yiddish and Israeli classics, and produces original compositions based on traditional Jewish prayers. Relying solely on vocals, the group achieves the effects of guitar, bass, drums, and electronic music through beatboxing and multiple layering of vocal tracks on its music videos. The group performs regularly for universities, synagogues, public and private groups, and in music festivals. It has released eight albums and won numerous awards.
