The Eko Heritage Awards was established in 2021 and is endorsed by the Lagos State Government. The Award celebrates and appreciates promoters of the Lagos State's cultural heritage which includes individuals and organisations from different sectors of the economy like Fashion, Agriculture, Media and also the Oil and Gas industries. The award is presented by Ivory forte entertainment and it is in two segments; The Honorary award category and the Online Voting Category. [1] Some notable recipients of the Eko heritage awards include Makayla Malaka, Nancy Isime,Toyin Lawani, Nasboi, Deyemi Okanlawon, Mercy Aigbe, Kayode Kasum and several others. [2] [3]

Ceremonies

First edition (2021)

The maiden edition was launched in 2021.

Second edition (2022)

The second edition of the Eko Heritage Awards was held on July 10, 2022, at the Lagos Oriental Hotel, over 25 persons received honorary awards some of which include HRM Oba Olufolarin, Hazmat Yusuf, Babajimi Benson, Makayla Malaka, Maria Chike Benjamin, MC perenpe and several others. They were musical performances by Makayla Malaka, Bustapop, Yemilee and Adeyemi and his afrosonic band. The show also witnessed a beauty pageant, Miss Eko International, which was won by Miss Surulere. [4] [5] [6] One of recognised brand at the second edition was De Sure Fraimz as they emerged Real estate company of the year at the voter's choice category. [7]

Third edition (2023)

The third edition was held on Sunday July 16, 2023 at the Lagos Oriental Hotel. Nollywood actresses Mercy Aigbe and Nancy Isime emerged winners of Eko leadership award and Eko Most Stylish Personality respectively. [8] [9] [10] Popular content creator Moyosoreoluwa emerged media personality of the year, [11] content creator Nasboi emerged social content creator of the year. and Ashmusy also emerged winner at the third edition. [1] Some of the brands that emerged winners at the third edition is a traveling agency, TMT Travels and tours Limited, they emerged the best distinctive traveling agency of the year. [12] Mr Ideal Nigeria also emerged Best Male pageant brand. [13]

The Headies is a music awards show established in 2006 by the Hip Hop World Magazine of Nigeria to recognize outstanding achievements in the Nigerian music industry. The annual ceremony features performances by established and promising artists. It is broadcast live on HipTV to viewers across Nigeria. The first and second editions of The Headies were held at the Muson Center in Onikan, Lagos State. Between 2010 and 2012, the awards were held at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos. Several media personalities in Nigeria have hosted the annual ceremony, including Darey Art Alade, D'banj, Dakore Egbuson, Banky W., Rita Dominic, M.I, Tiwa Savage and Dr SID.

The Headies 2012 was the 7th edition of The Headies. It was hosted by M.I and Omawumi. The ceremony took place on 20 October 2012, at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos. The aforementioned hosts thrilled fans with their song titled "The Headies". Chidinma opened the show by performing her song "Kedike". The Okoye brothers won a total of three awards. The Artiste of the Year award went to Wizkid. Tiwa Savage and Wande Coal won the Best Male and Female Vocal Performance categories, respectively. Vector won the Best Rap Single and Lyricist on the Roll plaques for "Angeli". Davido won the Next Rated category and was later awarded a Hyundai Sonata. The Headies celebrated the reunion of prominent Nigerian musicians from the 80s and 90s, including Onyeka Onwenu, Oris Wiliki, Mike Okori, Baba Fryo, Shina Peters, Fatai Rolling Dollar and Daddy Showkey. Femi Kuti was honored with the Hall of Fame award.

The winner of Mr Ideal Nigeria automatically represents Nigeria at Mr Africa International. Mr Ideal Nigeria emerged best male pageant brand of the year at the Eko Heritage awards in 2023.

Misters of Nigeria is a Nigerian Male Pageant based in Lagos, Nigeria that is aimed at developing young men into global leaders. It was created in 2020 by 97th entertainment. The pageant currently holds the franchise to some international Pageants which includes Mister Global, Mister International, Manhunt International and Mister Model International. The Top 3 finalists of Misters Of Nigeria go on to represent Nigeria in any of the above-mentioned competitions.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Emmanuel Somto</span>

Emmanuel Somto is a Nigerian Model, TV personality and Actor. He won Mr Teen Nigeria in 2016, emerged African Continental Champion at the Mister Model International 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand. He emerged Face of Oppo Mobile in 2020 and he is the first Nigerian to make Top 17 at Mister Global pageant.

Ayotunde Fabamwo also widely known as Mr. Twitch, is a Nigerian marketing expert, talent manager, and serial entrepreneur. He is the founder of House of Twitch, an event management company which are the organizers of Miss Ideal Nigeria, Mr Ideal Nigeria, Mr Teen Nigeria, Model Look Africa, Ibadan Style and Fashion Week, and Mister Africa International.
