El Buen Tono was a Mexican manufacturer of cigarettes founded by Ernesto Pugibet, a French entrepreneur who migrated to Mexico in 1879. The company was founded in 1894 and ceased to exist around 1961. [1]

On August 11, 2014, Mexican reporter Octavio Rojas Hernández was murdered at his home in San José Cosolapa, Oaxaca, Mexico. According to police reports, he was lured from his home after an unidentified young man told him he was interested in buying his vehicle. As Rojas chatted with the suspect, he was shot four times and killed. The perpetrator fled from the scene shortly thereafter. Rojas was a reporter for the daily El Buen Tono, where he frequently covered the police section and topics on organized crime. A few days before his murder, Rojas had written an article on the daily's crime section about Mexican security forces discovering a criminal cell that was siphoning gas from Mexico's state-owned oil company Pemex.

Avenida Bucareli, often referred to as "Bucareli Street", is a main avenue and eje vial in Mexico City. It divides the Historic center on the east from Colonia Juárez on the west. It is named after the viceroy of New Spain, Antonio María de Bucareli y Ursúa, who commissioned it. Built in the late 18th century and called Paseo Nuevo, it was once a wide boulevard lined with more than 1000 ash trees. In the 19th century the walking paths on either side were built upon and the avenue acquired its current width. It originally had three plazas, each with a fountain. Only one fountain survives, though it was moved to Plaza Loreto.
