El Castillo de Kafka is a complex of 90 apartments in Sant Pere de Ribes, near Sitges in Catalonia, Spain. It was designed by Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura and completed in 1968. [1]
It was inspired by the Utopian practice of Archigram and its "plug-in city" concept of modular megastructures. Its name is an explicit reference to The Castle , the 1926 novel by Franz Kafka. [2]

The original statue dated from the late 12th century. However, the chapel in which it was housed burned down on 8 September 1972, and the statue was destroyed. The Arcades du Lac, built in 1981, is an ensemble of apartment buildings in the outer Paris ville nouvelle of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, France, near Versailles.
