Elan is an Indian film director, screenwriter and lyricist who predominantly works in the Tamil film industry. [1]

Personal life

Elan was making short films since he finished his schooling in 2007. [2] He is the son of Stills Pandian, a photographer. [3]

Career

In 2017, he worked on Graghanam starring Krishna and Chandran. It was a thriller film about the happenings of a night. The film, however, remains unreleased. [4] [5] After completing a love story script, he began working on the next one without reaching out to producers. By chance, a friend of Yuvan Shankar Raja asked if he had any romance scripts, leading to Elan's debut directorial, Pyaar Prema Kaadhal (2018). [2] In celebration of Pyaar Prema Kaadhal 's success, Yuvan Shankar Raja gifted Elan a luxury car. [6] The film was later remade in Telugu as Urvasivo Rakshasivo (2022). [7] After the collaboration on Pyaar Prema Kaadhal (2018) with Harish Kalyan, Elan was reported to collaborate with Harish again for his next directorial in 2019. [8] In August 2023, Kavin, was reported to replace Harish for the lead role and the principal photography began on 1 June 2023 in Chennai. [9] [10] In an interview, Elan stated that "Vaaranam Aayiram was one of my biggest inspirations to make Star." and that it was a tribute to his father. [11]

Yuvan – Live in Concert is a concert by Indian musician Yuvan Shankar Raja. The concert, Yuvan's second in his career, took place on Pongal, 16 January 2011 at the YMCA Grounds, Nandanam, Chennai. Following the announcement, popular Tamil television STAR Vijay agreed to collaborate, sponsoring, organising and marketing the concert, while airing a special television series about Yuvan Shankar Raja, with family members and prominent celebrities closely associated to him participating, besides producing a promotional music video, titled "I'll be there for you". The five-hour show, which was attended by 20,000 people, including several noted film personalities, was received very positively and considered a highly successful event. The concert was aired on 11 and 12 February, Friday and Saturday at 2000 hrs on Vijay TV.

The Vijay for Favorite Song is given by STAR Vijay as part of its annual Vijay Awards ceremony for Tamil (Kollywood) films. The award is chosen through public voting. Harris Jayaraj is the most frequent winner with three wins.

"The Love Anthem" is an Indian song done by Silambarasan with a thought of spreading the message of love world over, written, sung and composed by the actor. A version of the song was officially released on 27 December 2011.

Pyaar Prema Kaadhal is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film directed by Elan in his directorial debut, and produced by Yuvan Shankar Raja, under the banner YSR Films, who also composed music for the film. Co-produced by S. N. Rajarajan under the banner K Productions. The film stars Harish Kalyan and debutant Raiza Wilson. The film marked the first project of both the lead actors, after rising to fame from the television series Bigg Boss Tamil. Anand Babu, Pandian, Rekha, Ramadoss and Subbu Panchu appear in supporting roles. The film's cinematography was handled by Raja Bhattacharjee, with editing done by S. Manikumaran. The film was launched in December 2017, along with the commencement of principal photography, and was completed in June 2018. The film was released on 10 August 2018, to a positive response from the audience as well as critics, praising the lead actors' performances, the screenplay, and the film's soundtrack. The film became a commercial success. The film won two Filmfare Awards South and two SIIMA Awards, including the Best Debut Actress Award for Raiza in both ceremonies.
