Squash, sometimes called squash rackets, is a racket sport played by two (singles) or four players (doubles) in a four-walled court with a small, hollow, rubber ball. The players alternate in striking the ball with their rackets onto the playable surfaces of the four walls of the court. The objective of the game is to hit the ball in such a way that the opponent is not able to play a valid return. There are about 20 million people who play squash regularly world-wide in over 185 countries. The governing body of squash, the World Squash Federation (WSF), is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and the sport will be included in the Olympic Games, starting with the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. The Professional Squash Association (PSA) organizes the pro tour.
Jahangir Khan is a former professional Pakistani squash player. He won the World Open title six times, and the British Open title ten times (1982–1991). Jahangir Khan is widely regarded as the greatest squash player of all time, and one of the greatest sportsmen in Pakistan history. From 1981 to 1986, Khan was unbeaten and won 555 consecutive matches during that time – the longest winning streak by any athlete in top-level professional sport as recorded by Guinness World Records.
The Professional Squash Association, aka PSA, is the governing body for the men's and women's professional squash circuit. The body operates in a similar fashion to the ATP and the WTA for tennis. The PSA's highest professional level, the PSA World Tour involves over 250 tournaments annually around the world. Over 1,200 players from five continents and more than 60 countries are registered with the PSA. Rankings are updated weekly based on performances.

She won two medals at the 2011 Pan American Games, a gold in the team event alongside Miranda Ranieri, & Stephanie Edmison, and a silver in the singles event. Cornett later won three medals at the 2015 Pan American Games held in Toronto, and three medals at the 2019 Pan American Games held in Lima.

Amanda Landers-Murphy is a New Zealand professional squash player. She reached a career-high world ranking of world No. 35 in February 2013. Of Māori descent, Landers-Murphy affiliates to Te Āti Awa. The two-time world doubles champion and 2018 Commonwealth Games gold medallist made the decision to retire from professional squash in 2018 but her doubles partner, Joelle King, persuaded her to come out of retirement. She won the 2021 Liquorland Howick PSA Open and the 2017 North Shore Open.
Todd Harrity is a retired American professional squash player who reached a career-high PSA ranking of World No. 34 in February 2022. He is a three-time National Champion, winning in 2015, 2016 and 2019. In 2018, he came out as gay, announcing it on Twitter, thus becoming the first openly gay professional male squash player in the world. At the time he was ranked No. 1 in the United States out of all male squash players.

He is a four-times world individual champion, having won the title in 2018–19, 2020–21, 2021–22 and 2022–23 and a four-times world team champion. He has a highest career world ranking of world No. 1 by the Professional Squash Association (PSA).
