A 1961 Pennsylvania State University graduate, Price began his college coaching career as the men's head coach at Penn State's Beaver campus, where he spent 19 years (1963–87) as the athletics director, physical education chair and head coach of eight sports.
Price was a men's assistant coach with the Rider University Broncs from 1986 to 1989. He was also Rider's golf head coach during that period. Price was the former women's head coach at Rider University and was the first women's basketball head coach in Rider history to compile over 100 wins (he has 162). Under Price, the Broncs improved their record every year over five seasons.
During his 35 years as a head coach, Price earned nearly 400 career victories.
From 2007 until his retirement in 2009, Price was the Director of Basketball Operations at Penn State University. [1]

Ernest B. McCoy was an All-American basketball player at the University of Michigan from 1927 to 1929. After graduating, he spent his entire professional career in college athletics, serving as the athletic director at Penn State (1952–1970), the athletic director at the University of Miami (1971–1973), and a basketball coach (1949–1952), assistant football coach, and assistant athletic director (1946–1952) at Michigan. He is most remembered as the athletic director who hired Joe Paterno as head football coach at Penn State in 1966.

He was a starting center playing college basketball for the Rider Broncs from 2004 to 2008, and was drafted in the first round of the 2008 NBA draft by the Sacramento Kings. He holds the record for most games played with the Kings during their tenure in Sacramento.

The school's team currently competes in the Western Athletic Conference. They play their home games at the UTRGV Fieldhouse. The Vaqueros are one of 45 Division I programs to have never appeared in the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament.

The Texas–Pan American Broncs were the varsity athletic teams representing University of Texas–Pan American in Edinburg, Texas in intercollegiate athletics. The university sponsored 15 teams including men and women's basketball, cross country, golf, tennis, and track and field ; soccer and volleyball for women only; and baseball for men only. The last varsity sport to be established for the Broncs was women's soccer, added for the 2014 season, with men's soccer added in 2015, the year that the merger took place. The Broncs compete in the NCAA Division I and are currently members of the Western Athletic Conference.

After serving his tenure as basketball coach, Harnum was later named athletic director at Rider in 2005.

He had a standout college career at Rider University in which he was the 1987 East Coast Conference co-Player of the Year. As of 2021–22, Simpson serves as the founder and CEO of the South Jersey Titans AAU basketball program as well as the athletic coordinator for the Robbinsville Township, New Jersey Recreation Department.
