Electronic Game Show, known also as EGS, is the largest video game convention that takes place in Mexico. It is held each year in Mexico City, since 2002, usually during early October. The first edition took place during May at World Trade Center Mexico City. The 2015 edition of EGS will take place in October 2, 3 and 4 at Centro Banamex.

History

EGS was created by Jorge Alor, Oscar Noriega, Jorge Lizárraga and Mario Valle to increase the potential of the Mexican gaming industry, which back in 2002 was almost non-existent. Back then, none of the biggest gaming publishers and brands had direct representation in Mexico and were merely distributors.

The first EGS was conceived by Oelli [2] (a Mexican entertainment company), which was brought together to piece the first Electronic Game Show. This event took place during the month of May and it included presentations by several gaming and non-gaming brands.

EGS 2002

The first EGS was attended by over 30,000 people, and 38 different exhibitors were a part of it. It was held in World Trade Center, in Mexico City.

Xbox México was the most important gaming brand that participated in this first edition.

Other participating brands were: Kellogg's, Bubbaloo, Banco Bital,[ citation needed ] Bimbo, Atomix, and Gameplanet; among others.

Originally Macworld Expo and then Macworld Conference & Exposition, the gathering dates back to 1985. The conference was organized by International Data Group (IDG), co-publisher of Macworld magazine.

NGOM Fest is a music festival established in Prizren, Kosovo. The word "Ngom" is written in Gheg Albanian dialect and it means "Listen to me" whereas the word "Fest" represents the abbreviation of the word "Festival". This Festival originates from a group of young and creative people who are active in the social life of Prizren and Kosovo. The first edition of the festival was held in June 2011 and due to its major success, the activists were more committed in organizing this event. The main objectives of this festival are to promote new bands and artists, build a new perspective for music festivals in Kosovo, and to connect different ethnic groups in Kosovo and in the region.

TwitchCon is a semi-annual gaming convention for the livestreaming video platform Twitch. The convention is organized by Twitch Interactive and focuses on the general culture of livestreaming and video gaming. TwitchCon also serves as an opportunity for streamers and content creators to improve their stream quality and grow their brand. TwitchCon is open to industry professionals, streamers, and fans; the convention allows community members to meet streamers, discover new products, and trial new games. The first convention was held in 2015 in San Francisco. In 2019, the first European convention was held in Berlin. The most recent convention was held in October 2022, in San Diego. TwitchCon is normally hosted twice a year, once in North America for three days and once in Europe for two days. The Electronic Entertainment Expo 1995, commonly known as E3 1995, was the first Electronic Entertainment Expo held. The event took place at the Los Angeles Convention Center from May 11–13, 1995, with 50,000 total attendees. Highlights of the 1995 show include Sony's announcement of the PlayStation's release date and pricing, Sega's surprise launch of the Sega Saturn, and Nintendo's showcase of the Virtual Boy console.
