Eli Gillman is an American college football running back for the Montana Grizzlies. He won the 2023 Jerry Rice Award.
Gillman attended Dassel-Cokato Senior High in Cokato, Minnesota. As a senior, Gillman had 43 touchdowns and ran for more than 1,900 yards before committing to play college football at the University of Montana. He also held offers from Central Michigan, Northern Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Georgetown, and Dartmouth. [1]
He helped lead his high school team, Dassel Cokato, to its first state championship. [2]
He had the most rushing yards by a freshman in the University of Montana's history and won the Jerry Rice Award. [3] He also had the longest touchdown run in the program's history. [4]
His sophomore year he racked up 175 yards and a touchdown in a win over Western Carolina. [5] For the season he has more than a thousand yards rushing and 15 rushing touchdowns. [6]

Roger Timothy Craig is an American former football player who was a running back in the National Football League (NFL). He played for the San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Raiders and Minnesota Vikings. Craig went to four Pro Bowls and won three Super Bowls with the 49ers. The Montana–Montana State football rivalry is an annual college football rivalry game between the University of Montana Grizzlies and the Montana State University Bobcats. The game is most historically and commonly known as the Cat-Griz game, and sometimes as the Griz-Cat game. Since 1997, the match has been advertised as the Brawl of the Wild.
