Elizabeth Phiriis a Zambian politician. She is a former member of Parliament for Kanyama Constituency under the Patriotic Front party and she also served as a Minister of Gender in the Zambian government. [1] [2]
The Zambia national football team represents Zambia in men's international association football and it is governed by the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ). James Phiri was a Zambian footballer,and is regarded as one of the best Zambian goalkeepers of his generation. He was the main goalkeeper in the squad for the 1994 and 1996 African Nations Cup tournaments and was voted Zambian Footballer of the Year for two consecutive seasons in 1993 and 1994.
Patrick Phiri is a Zambian football coach and former footballer. He featured for Zambian clubs Rokana United and Red Arrows as a striker and represented Zambia at the 1978 and 1982 African Cup of Nations tournaments. As a coach,Phiri led the Zambia U-20 national team to its first ever appearance at the 1999 FIFA World Youth Championship in Nigeria and was voted Zambian Coach of the Year at the end of the year. He was also in charge of Zambia at the 2008 African Cup of Nations in Ghana and has managed ten different club sides,with three of them more than once. He is currently in charge of Nakambala Leopards in the Zambian Premier League.
David Abel Ray Phiri was a Zambian businessman who was a former Governor of the Central Bank of Zambia and Chairman of the Football Association of Zambia. He died in Lusaka,Zambia on 16 January 2012 from complications arising from a brain stem infarction he suffered 10 days earlier. He had two sons with Elizabeth Ann Phiri:Sipho Philip Masewera (1967) and Guy David Zingalume (1969). He had two brothers,Dr. Mannasseh Phiri and Chris Phiri,both of whom live in Lusaka,Zambia,and four sisters:Irene Kabwe,Zondiwe Maboshe,Cecilia Phiri and Hlupo Phiri.
Catherine Namugala a Zambian politician. She is the First Deputy Speaker of the Zambian Parliament. She was nominated to that position by President Edgar Lungu,on 18 September 2016. She is the former Minister of Tourism,Environment and Natural Resources in the Zambian Cabinet. She also served as the Member of Parliament (MP),representing Mafinga in the Zambian Parliament from 2001 until 2016.

She was the director for business development in Anglophone Africa at the United Bank for Africa at the bank's headquarters in Lagos,Nigeria. In this role,she supervised business development in Cameroon,the Democratic Republic of the Congo,Ghana,Kenya,Liberia,Mozambique,Tanzania,Uganda,and Zambia. Before that,she served as the managing director and chief executive officer of the United Bank for Africa Uganda Limited from March 2009 until May 2011.
Zambia competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London,held from 27 July to 12 August 2012. The country's participation at London marked its twelfth appearance in the Summer Olympics since its début at the 1964 Summer Olympics. The delegation consisted of seven competitors;three track and field athletes Gerald Phiri,Prince Mumba and Chauzje Choosha,one each in Boxing and Judo and two swimmers,Zane Jordan and Jade Ashleigh Howard. Mumba was the national flag bearer at the opening and closing ceremonies.
Catherine Phiri is a Zambian professional boxer. She held the WBC female bantamweight title from 2016 to 2017 and challenged twice for the WBC female super-bantamweight title in 2017 and 2019. As of May 2022,she is ranked as the world's tenth best active female super-bantamweight by BoxRec.
