Elma van Haren (born 29 August 1954) is a Dutch poet.

Career

In 1988, she made her debut as poet with Reis naar het welkom geheten. [2] She won the very first C. Buddingh'-prijs for this collection of poems. [1] [2] She went on to publish various poem collections including De wankel (1989), Het schuinvallend oog (1991) and Grondstewardess (1996). In 1997, she received the Jan Campert Prize for Grondstewardess. [2]

Her poem Het schitterende from her work Eskimoteren was selected as one of the three best poems of the year 2000. [2]

She made her debut in children's poetry with De wiedeweerga (1998). [1] In 2012, she made her debut in prose with the collections of stories Walsen. Van Haren's first novel Mevrouw OVO was published in 2017.

Her work is published by publishing company Uitgeverij De Harmonie.

Justus Hiddes Halbertsma

Justus Hiddes Halbertsma, West Frisian form: Joast Hiddes Halbertsma, pron. [jo.ǝst ˈhɪdəs ˈhɔlbǝtsma] ; Dutch form: Joost Hiddes Halbertsma, pron. [joːst ˈhɪdəs ˈhalbǝrtsma], was a Frisian writer, poet, minister, lexicographer and linguist. Today, he is primarily known for the poetry and short story collection De Lapekoer fan Gabe Skroar, which he wrote with his brother Eeltsje, publishing the first edition in 1822. Afterwards, this work was continually expanded, and also came to include contributions by a third brother, Tsjalling, until all the Halbertsma Brothers' prose and poetry was posthumously collected in 1871 to become the famous work Rimen en Teltsjes. Although the literary value of this collection was later disputed by some critics, it is undeniable that Rimen en Teltsjes played a role of crucial importance in the development of a new literary tradition after Western Frisian had been used almost exclusively as a spoken language for three centuries.

Angèle Georgette Ghislaine Manteau, born in Dinant on 24 January 1911 and died in Aalst on 20 April 2008, was a Belgian publisher. According to the Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium for Science and the Arts, which presented her with an award in 2003, she was "the main Flemish literary editor of the twentieth century" and her publishing house has "undoubtedly left its mark on the history of Flemish literature".

<i>F.C. De Kampioenen</i> (comic)

F.C. De Kampioenen is a Belgian comic strip by created by Hec Leemans since 1997 and published by Standaard Uitgeverij. The comics series is based on the television sitcom comedy series of the same name on Flemish television. The series ran for 94 albums with numerous special versions and editions.

The C. Buddingh'-prijs is an annual literary award for the best debut poetry collection in Dutch. The award is given by Poetry International and is named after Dutch poet C. Buddingh'. The award was first given in 1988 and the award is given during the Poetry International Festival in Rotterdam. The winner of the prize receives €1,200.
