His merits include winning the Swedish championship in 100 km in 2019, 2021 and 2022, winning Ultravasan [2] and being the third fastest 100 mile runner of all time, behind only Aleksandr Sorokin and Zach Bitter, with a time of 11:26:19 at the Tunnel Hill 100 Mile race in USA. [3] He has also finished on the podium of races such as Black Canyon Trail, Fjällmaraton 100k and Ultra Trail Cape Town, as well as top 10 placements in the Comrades Marathon, Transgrancanaria, and the IAU World 100 km championships. Scott Gordon Jurek is an American ultramarathoner, author, and public speaker. Throughout his running career, Jurek was one of the most dominant ultramarathon runners in the world, winning the Hardrock Hundred (2007), the Badwater Ultramarathon, the Spartathlon, and the Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run (1999–2005). In 2010, at the 24-Hour World Championships in Brive-la-Gaillarde, France, Jurek won a silver medal behind Shingo Inoue and set a new US record for distance run in 24 hours with 165.7 miles. In 2015, Jurek set the Fastest Known Time running record for the 2,189-mile Appalachian Trail.
Ida Nilsson is a Swedish long-distance runner who also competes in ski mountaineering. In 2003 – 2006 she won a total of ten gold medals in Swedish championships in track & field and cross country running, plus two NCAA gold medals. After many years away from training Nilsson won the Swedish championship in ski mountaineering in 2016 and a couple of months later won the prestigious Transvulcania ultramarathon.
Michael Wardian is an American marathoner and ultra-marathoner. He won the 2008, 2009 and 2010 US 50 km championships and the 2011 US 50 mile championship. In 2008, he won the U.S. National 100 km championship. Wardian also is the 2007 JFK 50 Mile champion, and 6-time winner of the National Marathon in Washington, D.C., winning 2006–2008 and 2010-2012.

Up to 2016, only 29 athletes under the age of 25 had completed the race that has been held annually since 1983.

As of 2024, Andrews competes for La Sportiva's professional team.
