Els Amics de les Arts is one of the best-known bands of what some have called the new wave of Catalan folk-pop. Their songs are short stories made with simple melodies, touches of electronic music, wordplay and much irony.
Catalonautes (Pistatxo Records, 2005) was the band's first demo album. It contained their first four songs, recorded at home in one afternoon. This was the first and the last album they planned to make. However, as a result of feedback they decided to make a second demo.
Roulotte Polar (Pistatxo Records, 2006) was completed a year and a half later. They all went on an Erasmus exchange, each to a different place, but they wrote the songs together through Skype and recorded them in their winter holidays, in December 2007.
Castafiore Cabaret (Pistatxo Records, 2008) was the group's first recorded album, with six self-produced songs. They sent 8,000 copies to the magazine Enderrock and started making homemade videos: Déjà-vu and A vegades ("Sometimes"). They started the Castafiore Tour across Catalonia and their music spread by word of mouth. They considered, for the first time, recording a second album in a professional studio.
Bed&Breakfast (Discmedi, 2009) came out in 2009. They started touring, hiring five musicians for their gigs. The album has been awarded many prestigious prizes. It became a Double Gold Album (more than 45,000 copies sold) and spent 74 weeks among the top-selling albums. [1] They rounded up the tour with a double concert at the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona.
The new album Espècies per Catalogar (Discmedi, 2012) ("Species to be catalogued") represents a step forward both musically and lyrically. [2] In the week of its release, the album reached number 1 in sales on iTunes [3] and number 4 in the Spanish Promusicae Chart (Spain's official music chart). [1] [3] The twelve songs on the album are composed of melodies that blend organic instrumentation with electronic beats.
In March 2013, they were asked to write and produce the official song of the 2013 World Aquatics Championships being held in Barcelona. [4]
In April 2014 they publish his third studio album "Només d'entrar hi ha sempre el dinosaure" (Discmedi, 2014). It definitely establishes them as one of the most important Catalan bands of the decade with unquestioned singles such as "Ja no ens passa" and "Preferiria no fer-ho". They tour around Catalonia, Spain, the UK and Ireland. They get their third Spanish Gold Record (more than 20.000 copies).
In 2015, to celebrate their tenth anniversary they performed three special shows in which they played with a Big Band. During their last concert they received on stage their first Platinum Record for the 45.000 copies of their debut album "Bed and Breakfast" (2009) [5]
Currently, the band is composing new songs.

Manel is an indie pop band from Barcelona who sing in Catalan. They released their first album in 2008. They describe their musical style as a synthesis of pop and folk music. Critics have linked their style to that of other Catalan-speaking musicians such as Pau Riba, Jaume Sisa, and Antònia Font.
Sopa de Cabra is a musical group from Girona, Catalonia, Spain, active from 1986 to 2002 and since 2015. They are considered to be one of the leading representatives of the rock català movement, though the band prefer not to be placed in the same category as other Catalan-language groups, some of whom had very different musical styles, simply on the basis of singing in Catalan. Sopa de Cabra's classic songs include L'Empordà, Camins ("Paths") and El Far del Sud.
Els Catarres are a Catalan pop-folk band. The members of Els Catarres are Èric Vergés and Jan Riera Prats from Aiguafreda and Roser Cruells from Centelles. The band is famous for the song Jenifer who came a hit in the summer of 2011 in Catalan Countries.
Vuit is a Catalan pop rock band, formed in 2009. The integrants of the group are Carlos Martínez, Òscar Villoria and Llorenç Anguer.
Teràpia de shock is a Catalan pop-rock band formed in 2006 by residents of les Preses in Garrotxa. The band's most famous song "Sense Tu" helped their rise to fame after it appeared on the TV3 series Polseres Vermelles.
Txarango was a Spanish (Catalan) band formed in Barcelona in 2010. Their members are musicians from the Catalan counties of Ripollès, Osona and Garrotxa. Nowadays, the band is composed of Alguer Miquel (voice), Marcel Lázara, a.k.a. Tito, Sergi Carbonell, a.k.a. Hipi (keyboard), Joaquim Canals (drums), Àlex Pujols, Pau Puig (percussion), Ivan López (saxophone) and Jordi Barnola (trumpet). They propose a musical fusion, taking Reggae as the mainstay, influenced by Dubstep, Latin music or Pop, and mixing Jamaican music, Rock and Latin sonorities. The band introduces itself in an imaginary connected to the circus clowns.
Francesc Freixas i Morros is a Catalan singer-songwriter. Freixas has released a sampler, seven albums, and a series of covers of international singer-songwriters as a contribution to the revitalization of the Protest song in the Catalan-speaking countries.

Alfred García Castillo is a Spanish singer-songwriter. He gained national recognition when he took part in series nine of the reality television talent competition Operación Triunfo, where he finished in fourth place, and also represented Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon, Portugal, alongside Amaia Romero, with the song "Tu canción", finishing in twenty-third place.
Per la bona gent is the fifth album by Spanish indie pop band Manel, and their first to be released on their label Ceràmiques Guzmán. It was released on 4 October 2019 and produced by Jake Aron. Music videos were filmed for "Per la bona gent" and "Boy Band". The band toured in support of the album from November 2019. The album debuted at number one on the Spanish albums chart.

La Pegatina is a ska and Catalan Rumba music group founded in 2003 in Montcada i Reixac.
Stay Homas are a Spanish musical trio created as a result of the preventive lockdown to stop the spread of COVID-19 in spring 2020. There are three members in the group: Klaus Stroink, Guillem Boltó and Rai Benet. They became roommates in a flat in the Eixample district of Barcelona a few months before the pandemic outbreak. The band's name, Stay Homas, is a play on words with the expression "stay home".
Núria Feliu i Mestres was a Spanish Catalan singer and actress, a singular figure of the Nova Cançó movement.
"Boig per Tu" is a song recorded by Colombian singer-songwriter Shakira from her self-titled tenth studio album Shakira (2014). Featured on the album is also a version of the song in Spanish titled "Loca por Ti". The song is a rework of Catalan rock band Sau's similarly titled song from 1990. Despite not being released as a single, "Boig per Tu" debuted atop of the songs chart in Spain.
