The Embassy of Malaysia in the Netherlands is the diplomatic mission of Malaysia and is situated in The Hague, Netherlands. It is located at Rustenburgweg 2 in The Hague, in a diplomatic area of the capital of the Netherlands. Opening hours are from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday. [1]
When Malaysia (then Malaya) applied to join the United Nations in 1957, the Netherlands was one of the countries that voted “yes” during the roll call for the admission of new members, making it possible for the Federation of Malaya to become the 82nd the member of the United Nations. [2] Although the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries started in that same year, Malaysia only established its resident Embassy in The Hague in September 1966. It moved to its permanent building at Rustenburgweg in the summer of 1985.
In addition to the Chancery building in Rustenburgweg, there are three Malaysian agencies which operate as part of the Embassy:

Malaysia is an active member of various international organisations, including the Commonwealth of Nations, the United Nations, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, and the Non-Aligned Movement. It has also in recent times been an active proponent of regional co-operation.
The Maldives has remained an independent nation throughout its recorded history, save for a brief spell of Portuguese occupation in the mid-16th century. From 1887 to 1965, the country was a British protectorate while retaining full internal sovereignty. At its independence in 1965, the Maldives joined the United Nations on 20 September.
Malaysia–United States relations are bilateral ties between Malaysia and the United States established diplomatic ties upon Malayan independence in 1957. Malaya was the predecessor state to Malaysia, a larger federation which was formed through the merger of Malaya, North Borneo, Sarawak and Singapore in 1963. Immediately before the merger, the latter three territories were previously part of the British Empire. But the US had consular and commercial presence in Malaya since the 1800s. US merchants, especially Joseph William Torrey together with Thomas Bradley Harris also had commercial interests in north western coast of Borneo in the 19th century as well, where they established the American Trading Company of Borneo.
Netherlands–Russia relations is the relationships between the two countries, the Kingdom of The Netherlands and The Russian Federation. Russia has an embassy in The Hague, and the Netherlands has an embassy in Moscow, a consulate in Saint Petersburg, and an honorary consulate in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
Netherlands – Romania relations is the official relationship between the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Romania. The Ambassador to Romania is concurrently accredited to Moldova. Romania has an embassy in The Hague and honorary consulates in Berkel-Enschot, Heeg, Rotterdam and Venlo. The Netherlands has an embassy in Bucharest, honorary consolates in Cluj-Napoca, Timișoara and Constanța, and since 2016 an office in Chișinău in Moldova.
Netherlands–Ukraine relations are foreign relations between the Netherlands and Ukraine. Both countries established diplomatic relations in 1992. The Netherlands has an embassy in Kyiv and a consulate in Lviv. Ukraine has an embassy in The Hague.
Dutch-Finnish relations are foreign relations between the Netherlands and Finland. the Netherlands recognised Finland's independence on January 28, 1918. Diplomatic relations between them were established on August 18, 1918. The Netherlands has an embassy in Helsinki and consulates. Finland has an embassy in the Hague, an honorary consulate general in Amsterdam and other honorary consulates in Rotterdam and Terneuzen. Both countries are full members of the European Union.
Japan–Malaysia relations refers to bilateral foreign relations between the two countries, Japan and Malaysia. The earliest recorded historical relation between the two nations are the trade relations between the Malacca Sultanate and the Ryūkyū Kingdom in the 15th century. Small numbers of Japanese settlers migrated to various parts of present-day Malaysia throughout the 19th century. This continued well into the 20th century, until relations reached an abrupt nadir with the rise of the Empire of Japan and its subsequent invasion and occupation of British Malaya and Borneo during World War II. Relations gradually improved after the war, culminating in Malaysia's "Look East" policy during the first premiership of Mahathir Mohamad in the 1980s.
Indonesia–Malaysia relations are foreign bilateral relations between Indonesia and Malaysia, and it is one of the most important bilateral relationships in Southeast Asia.
The Consulate General of Malaysia for Southern India is one of the three missions of Malaysia in India focusing on Malaysian interests in the region. It is located in Chennai and its jurisdiction includes the states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala and the union territory of Puducherry. The other two are the Malaysian High Commission in New Delhi and the Consulate General of Malaysia in Mumbai, in addition to an honorary office in Kolkata. The current Consul General of the Chennai Consulate is Saravanan Karathihayan. He is the fifth Consul General of the Chennai Consulate succeeding Ahmad Fajarazam bin Abdul Jalil and is the 21st head of mission since the establishment of the Mission in 1961.
Cuba–Malaysia relations refers to bilateral foreign relations between Cuba and Malaysia. Diplomatic relations were established on 6 February 1975, Cuba opened its embassy in Kuala Lumpur on 1997, while Malaysia opened its representation in Havana in February 2001. Both are the members of Group of 77, Non-Aligned Movement and United Nations.
Dato' Dr. Fauziah binti Mohamad Taib is a Malaysian diplomat and published author. She was previously the Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, a post she held from 13 August 2008 until her retirement in 2015. She also served as the Permanent Representative of Malaysia to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), which is based in The Hague.
Mexico–Netherlands relations refers to the diplomatic relations between Mexico and the Netherlands. Both nations are members of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and the United Nations.
The French–Dutch relations refer to the interstate and bilateral relations between France and the Netherlands. The two countries notably share a border division in the Caribbean island of Saint Martin, to which the northern part of the island is a French overseas collectivity known as the Collectivity of Saint Martin, while the southern part of the island is a Dutch constituent country known as Sint Maarten. Relations between the two countries date back to the 17th and 18th centuries when a conflict led to the transformation of the Dutch Republic to the Batavian Republic and eventually the Kingdom of Holland. The two countries currently enjoy close cultural and economic relations. Both nations are members of the OECD, as well as founding members of the European Union, NATO, and the United Nations.
