Emeka Emmanuel Oguzie // ( Loudspeaker.svg listen ) is a Nigerian chemist and researcher. He is the Deputy Vice Chancellor of Federal University of Technology, Owerri. [1]

Early life and education

After obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Pure Chemistry from the University of Nigeria Nsukka in 1996, he proceeded to the Federal University of Technology Owerri where he acquired a master's degree in Analytical Chemistry, in 1998. Oguzie received his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the University of Calabar in 2006. [3]

Oguzie is a Professor of Physical Chemistry at the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO). He was a visiting (CAS-TWAS) postdoctoral research fellow (2006-2007), and TWAS-UNESCO Associate (2008-2011) at the State Key Laboratory for Corrosion and Protection, Institute of Metal Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shenyang, China. He was appointed Young Affiliate of The World Academy of Science (2007-2012). Oguzie is a fellow of the OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID). [1]

In 2019, Oguzie became the Center Leader of the Africa Center of Excellence in Future Energies & Electrochemical Systems (ACE-FUELS) in FUTO. He also has experience working in the Petrochemical industry, having been engaged as Research Advisor (Health, Safety & Environment) at Shell Petroleum Development Company, Port Harcourt, Nigeria (2012-2013). Oguzie was in 2021 appointed the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Development and Innovation) at Federal University of Technology Owerri. [1]

The Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) is a federal government university in Owerri West, the capital of Imo State, Nigeria. The university is bounded by the communities of Eziobodo, Umuchima, Ihiagwa and Obinze. It is the premier federal university of technology in the South-East and South-South parts of Nigeria.

Owerri West is a Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria. Its headquarters are in the town of Umuguma. Owerri West Local Government is administered under the terms of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Elections to the office of the Chairman of the local government are held through nominations by registered political parties as stipulated by the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, under the supervision of Imo State Electoral Commission. Owerri West was carved out of the former Owerri Local Government Area in 1996. A very large portion of the local government constitute the capital city of Imo State, Nigeria.

Md. Tofazzal Islam is a biotechnologist, ecological chemist, educator, and author from Bangladesh. He is now a professor and founder Director of Institute of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering (IBGE) of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU), Gazipur. He joined Bangladesh Open University (BOU) as a lecturer in 1994 and became an assistant, associate and full professor in 1997, 2004 and 2010, respectively. He joined BSMRAU on July 1, 2010, as a professor and head of the Department of Biotechnology. Celestine Onyemobi Elihe Onwuliri was a renowned university professor of Parasitology and 5th substantive Vice Chancellor of the FUTO University. He was also the Ag. Vice Chancellor of the University of Jos and a two-time Honorable Commissioner. After his death, an educational institution of higher learning in the US, the Graduate Theological Foundation instituted a fellowship in his honour called the Celestine O. E. Onwuliri Fellowship in Scientific Research and Human Values.

Héctor Daniel Abruña is a Puerto Rican physical chemist whose work focuses on electrochemistry, molecular electronics, fuel cells, batteries, and electrocatalysis. Abruña is director of the Energy Materials Center and Emile M. Chamot professor for chemistry at Cornell University. The Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) Library is the primary academic library for the FUTO in Nigeria. The library is adjacent to lecture rooms, laboratories and hostels. It has ICT section that provides e-resources databases that include Science Direct, Ebscohost, Research4life databases, TEEAL and other free electronic resources.

Nnenna Nnannaya Oti is a Nigerian professor and the Vice-Chancellor of Federal University of Technology Owerri. Oti defeated Ikechukwu Dozie on 13 April 2021 and has resumed office as the 8th Vice-Chancellor of the institution on 19 June 2021.

Jude Nzochukwu Njoku better known as Jude Njoku is a Nigerian professor of Agricultural economics. He served as the 4th Vice-Chancellor of Federal University of Technology Owerri from 2000 to 2005.
