Emil Caswell

Emil George Henry Caswell was the Dean of St George's Cathedral, Georgetown, Guyana, from 1894 until 1910.

Born in 1854, [1] he was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford, [2] and began his career with curacies at St Mary, West Rainton, [3] and St Andrew's, Auckland, [4] before incumbencies at Hunwick and Bishopwearmouth. [5] After his spell overseas he returned to the North East as Vicar of St John's, Darlington. [6] He died of heart failure in Darlington on 16 May 1913, he was 59; he was married to Ethel and had six children. [7]

Middleton St George Human settlement in England

Middleton St George is a large village and civil parish in the borough of Darlington and the ceremonial county of County Durham, England. It is situated approximately 3.5 miles (5.6 km) east of Darlington. According to the 2011 UK Census the population was 3,779, including Middleton One Row, Low Middleton and Oak Tree. It has grown rapidly since the mid-1990s, becoming a commuter area for Darlington. The population of the Darlington ward in question again taken at the 2011 Census was 4,650.

Heighington is a village in the borough of Darlington and ceremonial county of County Durham, England. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 2,395. It is situated between Darlington and Shildon, near Newton Aycliffe. One of its most significant features is St Michael's Church that sits in the middle of a large village green. The church is Norman, except for the 13th-century south aisle and the 19th-century north aisle. A rare feature in this church is a pre-Reformation oak pulpit with six traceried linen fold panels, with an inscription bearing prayers for its donor: an Alexander Flettcher and his wife Agnes.

Born in 1914, he was educated at Clare College, Cambridge, ordained in 1939 after a period of study at Ripon College Cuddesdon and began his career with curacies at St James, West Hartlepool and St Mary Magdalen, Medomsley. From 1943 to 1948 he was vicar of Demerara River, Guyana and then Dean of the Diocese's Cathedral. Returning to England he held incumbencies at Harton, North Yorkshire, Eastgate, County Durham and Forcett, Richmondshire. Young died in Darlington, County Durham in June 1991 at the age of 77.
