The Eminata Group is a for-profit provider of post-secondary education in Canada. The corporation, based in Vancouver, British Columbia, owns and manages a number of for-profit colleges in Canada, including Vancouver Career College, and CDI College and Campus Support parent company. [1]
Eminata is owned and chaired by the Korean-born businessman Peter Chung, whose family emigrated to the US when he was a boy. He built up an enterprise in California consisting of real estate ventures and for-profit schools but went bankrupt after the failure of his computer school, Wilshire Computer College, in 1993. Two years later, he founded Eminata in Vancouver. [2] [3] When Eminata purchased University Canada West in 2008, the Times Colonist reported that the corporation had annual revenues of approximately $50 million and owned 30 education centres across Canada. [4] Eminata sold University Canada West, which had been dogged by student complaints and falling enrollment, to Global University Systems in 2015. [5]

The British Columbia Institute of Technology, is a public polytechnic institute in Burnaby, British Columbia. The technical institute has five campuses located in the Metro Vancouver region, with its main campus in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. There is also the Aerospace Technology Campus in Richmond, the Marine Campus in the City of North Vancouver, Downtown campus in Vancouver, and Annacis Island Campus in Delta. It is provincially chartered through legislation in the College and Institute Act. The school operates as a vocational and technical school, offering apprenticeships for the skilled trades and diplomas and degrees in vocational education for skilled technicians and workers in professions such as engineering, accountancy, business administration, broadcast/media communications, digital arts, nursing, computing, medicine, architecture, and law.
Camosun College is a public college located in Saanich, British Columbia, Canada. The college has two campuses, Lansdowne and Interurban, with a total enrollment of around 14,000 students in 2022/23. Camosun College also provides contract training for local business; research, innovation and prototyping services for industry; and trained co-op students for employers.

University Canada West (UCW) is a private, for-profit university in British Columbia, Canada. It was founded in 2005 by David F. Strong, the former president of the University of Victoria. UCW was purchased in 2008 by the Eminata Group and in 2014 sold to Global University Systems, its present owners. Based in downtown Vancouver, the university offers undergraduate and graduate programs in business and management.

The college has 23 campus locations in five Canadian provinces: six in British Columbia, eight in Alberta, one in Manitoba, four in Ontario and five in Quebec. The school has been owned by the Eminata Group since 2007. A 2022 investigation by CBC reported that some recruiters for CDI College lied to applicants about program accreditation and the post-graduation hiring rates of its students.
Victoria College of Art (VCA) is a private, non-profit art college located in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Founded in 1974 as the Northwest Coast Institute of Arts, the college offers Diploma programs in Fine Arts, Applied Arts Illustration, and Applied Arts Animation. It has no connection whatsoever with Visual College of Art and Design (VCAD) in Vancouver which is owned by the for-profit education company Eminata.
Vancouver Career College is a private for-profit post-secondary career college with seven campuses in British Columbia, Canada. It specializes in training students for careers in health care, business, legal administration, education and various trades. Established in 1996, the college is owned by the Eminata Group via Vancouver Career College (Burnaby) Inc. which does business as three different career colleges: Vancouver Career College, CDI College, and Vancouver College of Art and Design.
Reeves College is a private for-profit post-secondary facility with five campuses in Alberta, Canada. The college specializes in training students for business, art and design, legal and health care related careers in under two years. Programs are developed in direct consultation with the business and health care communities to satisfy industry demands for certain skill sets. The college continuously accepts applications for enrollment in the next session of each certified career program.

The Himalayan Institute of Yoga Science and Philosophy is an international non-profit organization, which promotes yoga and holistic health through yoga retreats, residential programs, health products and services, media publications including Yoga International magazine, and humanitarian projects. The institute's main campus is located on (1.6 km2) in the Pocono Mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania and is the site of most of its residential programming. Visual College of Art and Design, or simply VCAD, is a for-profit career college in Vancouver, Canada owned by the Eminata Group. The college offers diploma programs in various aspects of fashion, graphic design, architecture design and technology, interior design, game design, and animation. It has no relation to the fine arts college Victoria College of Art, although the latter was also owned for 10 months by Eminata between November 2008 and September 2009 during which time it was branded as "Victoria College of Art and Design".
Educacentre College is the only French-language college in British Columbia. The general aim is to provide people with bilingual language skills—that speakers of French receive education in their native language and at the same time receive English skills. It provides professional training on different levels, basic education for adults, professional development services, and services leading to the employment and integration of immigrants in French. One major area of work are French courses for English speaking people. The college has several campuses in different regions of the province, and e-learning on the Virtual Campus. It has been active since 1976 and was incorporated as a not for profit society in 1992.
